Just watched the trailer for Dark Messiah: Elements on XBL, it looks great, like Oblivion but with better combat action.
Then I checked out Gamespot reviews and the pc version only got a 6.5. I really hope they improve it for 360

Hell no if Dark Messiah got like 6.7 (on the pc)and oblivon got a 9.7 (on the xbox360) what would be new in the Trasaction?

That what I'm worried about. GS said the single player would mostly remain the same so if its not that good on pc it could turn out to be the biggest waste of potential ever
The real Oblivion killer will be...
Elder Scrolls V - which according to Bethesda's site is on track for 2009. :)

Not yet that I've been able to find. They confirm that it's in the works - but that's about it. Looks sweet too - I can't wait, because no matter how much time I do or don't have...
I always have time for Oblivion. :)

Where did you hear that?
Dark messiah is bad. If they use the same crap engine itll still be the same crap game so its time to hope they're not.teebeenz
lol Source is a great engine. DM is a great game, i love the physics and impaling enemies into spike walls by kicking them.
Horrible game. Oblivion isn't that great either.BounceDK
i don't really see how this can be said except for "OMG I AM tEh NON-conFOrMIst!!11". you might not have found it overly fun, but there is no denying that Oblivion is one of the best made video games ever. ever ever. ever times infinity.

Oblivion was good, but it was clearly dumbed down from Morrowind to appeal more to the masses.have you played the game? the game is really good, i found it fun....untill it stopped working cos its so f'in buggy, but it really is a good game, if they work out the bugs it could be great, especially the online multiplayer, the crusade is really funKevanio
My game stopped working on chapter 7. After I jumped across the bridge and whats-his-face has to find another way.
On average, I would have to pull the plug on my computer a dozen times for an hour and a half of gameplay.
Its fun, but shockingly buggy!!!

Dude, the levels have so many spikes, open flames, and cliffs that kicking an enemy into/off them is unbalanced.

DM was a decent title for the PC but it was really plagued with bugs/glitches. I think if they worked all of those bugs out in the PC version it will do well. Oblivion killer....I think that may be a far stretch but a good title to pick up if you liked Oblivion at least. Vegetaxxssj4
No more patches for the PC version. Ubisoft and Arkane abandoned it.

Oblivion was good, but it was clearly dumbed down from Morrowind to appeal more to the masses. Personally, I like Oblivion waaaaaaaay more than Morrowind. Morrowind was almost too complex. It was so hard to get into, took me like 2 hours to find that guy and deliver the note or whatever...They're not similar in the least bit. The only thing that they have in common is a first person view and a fantasy setting. Dark Messiah is a linear adventure that allows you to customize your skills as a fighter, wizard, rogue, or hybrid of any of these. The game is set along a main storyline and allows you enough flexibility to decide how you want to tackle the games combat areas. You can run in blasting as a mage, stealthly sneak up on your enemies and perform a finishing move, or bash them with your shield and watch them get impaled on the spiked wall.
The big draw to the game is that it is a decent length (8-10 hours), has incredible physics (kick enemies off cliffs, launch debris at them, etc, and has a good story. The combat is also done very well and can really make you think on your feet as well as use your terrain.
The PC version was rated so poorly mainly due to some significant bugs that were later fixed.
