Anyone else having this issue? It frequently freezes up on me at moments where the game obviously has to load new data, like when I trigger a door, or a cut scene occurs. Anyone knowan easy fix?

Hmm, it would be surprising if there were people who are not installing their games on hdd yet.Did you try to install the game on your Harddrive? Maybe that might fix the problem.

You'd be surprised...
Thanks, guys. In fact, I am one of those weirdos that does not install my games, because I have not yet purchased a hard drive. How confident are you that this will help? I noticed that at least one of you tried this, and the game is still crashing for him. Any further thoughts?
Don't bother: I have the 120 GB HDD and the game has frozen twice, even tho' installed. Apparently there is a patch coming to fix the vsync issues, hopefully it takes care of the "loading" problem as well - your diagnosis is the same as m Both freezes happened to me when advancing quickly into new areas, it would hang up and freeze.
I don't hold out much hope for the patch to work tho - usually fixing vsync actually makes the framerate worse. They'd have to actually slow the game down to fix it.
They are just chasing their tails with a patch. It won't fix the problem because it is not a technical problem, it is a manufacturing problem. You have to do the boil trick on the game to burn off the residue from the pressing of the game. Has everybody forgotten the Official Xbox Magazine demo disc problem so quickly? Almost every one of those discs I got had to be boiled before it would play. It would either not boot, or boot and then chop and freeze all the time. I figured that was the problem with the Darksiders disc I have as it freezes constantly, so I went ahead and boiled it and I've had no more problems with the game. To those who didn't have to resort to this congratulations. Either you have a clean copy or a strong laser. Also, this is why this isn't a big issue on PS3 probably as it is on a Blu-Ray disc not a DVD...Don't bother: I have the 120 GB HDD and the game has frozen twice, even tho' installed. As the other poster said you'd be surprised. Are you thinking about the fact that a whole lot of people still have the 20 gig hard drive, which doesn't leave room for game installs.
