Pretty fun.Id' Go As Far To Say That Im Having The Same Amount Of Fun As I Had In Bayonetta...Though I Thought The Combat Was A little Too Simple.

i bought both darksiders and bayonetta on the same day. Ive only played darksiders because it very addicting.
Darksiders is a great game I' am about halfway through (10 hours) andI' am still addicted to it and I' am definetly glad I bought it.
I finished bayonetta a couple hours ago (took me 8 and a half hours) and I think it was a great game.
Started Darksiders half an hour ago aaaaand I was not as impresed as I thought I would be. I'll continue playing tomorrow.
I've played and beat both games and there both really good. I liked the ending to Darksiders. However I did enjoy Bayonetta more though. Its just so outrageous and bizzare... And full of win :D
The combat is just right for me. I really like this game so far. Just when it seems like it might get a bit repetitive, they throw something new in the mix and you get a new toy or trinket to mess around with. Im about 10 hours in and still having a good time with this game.

i justed it it tonite. havent had a chance to play it yet:(I'll make this as simple as I can. If you like zelda style games you will probably love Darksiders. The combat is not amazing but still pretty fun, however the level design and puzzles are very well done and take a lot of great ideas from many games to make a very unique and fun experience.
It took me about 17 hours to beat the game and I only did minor amounts of treasure hunting. Some of the boss battles aren't that well done but in the end I had as much fun with this game as almost anything on gamespot's best of 2009 list.
Between this and bayonetta, 2010 is already off to an amazing start. Considering what all else is coming this could be this generation's biggest year.
i liked bayonetta more even though i foundeasy and darksiders on normal i find the enemeys kill you very fast but i only played it for a hour and i beat bayonetta

i justed it it tonite. havent had a chance to play it yet:(omg. my gfs mom is still hogging the tv. someone please come to my house and knock her out for me. so i can play this game:twisted:I bought it, brought it home but didn't unwrap it. Read the forums and decided that I needed to rent it because I was concerned withe the screen tearing and it making me feel ill (some games do that). Rented it and played for an hour or so and was right, the screen tearing / blur whenever you turn really sucked. Returned the rental and took the game back. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
For what I did play of it and if it hadn't made me ill it seemed like a pretty good game.
Great game. I appreciate the way it makes you think as well as testing your monster-killing skills. Backgrounds can occasionally look a little bland but the character design is outstanding. I'm currently making my way through the Dark Throne and I'm stuck on one of those blasted Voidwalker puzzles. I'll try again tomorrow when I'm feeling fresher.

You do know there was going to be an update to fix that problem and I don' t know why people complain about screen tearing I haven' t had any problems with screen tearing.my initial impressions from 15 minutes of playing the full game at a GameCrazy, i'd rather be playing Bayonetta
I don't think it was bad, i just found the AI to be easy (it was beginning of the game so i guess thats fair, prolly gets harder)
The graphics were entirely underwhelming i thought the graphics were terrible, like first year 360 games (like Just Cause 1) the fire effects are, horrible.
Gameplay is fun just, i dunno i never felt threatened but i got little time with it and i don't really like the theme of it, in a city, and i hate monsters/characters with that deep evil monster voice
Bayonetta is a similar game but oozes so much more personality and stringing together attacks is so satisfying
It entices me, but I probably won't bite -- there are too many good games out right now.
I do really like the idea of games looking to get back to some of the more oldschool zelda type puzzles. I love and miss old type puzzles. But this didn't really look like the game that is going to get it done for me. Something down the line will pull it off better.

I love the art direction and the graphics, one of my favorite things about the game.

This is true.
As you can see in my previous post I didn't like the game all that much, but now I'm about to finish the first temple and having a lot of fun with it.
Yes it has it's problems (the first temple is linear and way too easy, did I mention it's linear? because it is. Zelda must be crying right now seeing how everyone compares the two game because of this factor) and the graphics aren't that good (I feel like playing an activision game like Spiderman friend or foe) but the game is fun and I'm enjoying it. I recommend it.
So the dilemma I have is that i am trying to decide between this and Dragon Age Origins, but not sure which way I should go. I have seen many compare the game to Bayonetta and that got me concerned, because I tried the demo for Bayonetta and didn't care for it. I do however love a good hack n slash and with the limited amount of playing time i have anymore something that can be played in small burst woudl be great.
Woudl it be worth picking the game up in my situation?
havent played Darksiders, picked up Bayonetta and finished it yesterday...restarted a new game and for people asking...YES, this game has TONS of replaybility. I'm not one to generally replay games (the ones games ive replayed this gen are Mass Effect and SW:TFU) but this game's got me HOOKED...it's MUCH more fun currently on my 2nd playthrough. Just wanted to bring that up since it was a part of the discussion.

I am aware they are going to more than likely release a patch for it. My issue with that is I'm not going to buy a game for full price and not play it for a time because i'm waiting for a patch. I'll simply return it to the store and get my money back, wait for the patch to come out and then pick it up again. Hopefully by that time it's also on sale at a retailer for less money. As for the screen tearing part, I'm glad that YOU haven't had any problem with it, I on the other hand did and I stated it as such. Did you miss the part where I said it made ME ill to play it because of the screen tearing.
I'm happy for YOU that things like that don't impede your ability to have fun playing a game as it really sucks. I don't know why people complain about people having it an issue with something in a game just because they don't have the same issue. ;)
That said, when Operation Flashpoint DR first came out I picked it up for the PC but didn't open it as I had read about a lot of issues with the game. I took that one back as well, waiting for the patch that till this day still has not fixed it's issues and it doesn't look like ever will. The original Op Flash was one of my favorite games of all time so you can imagine how much I really wanted the new one to be good. Again it's been out for what 4 months or so and not a peep about actually fixing it like they say they are going to. That is why I don't keep stuff and wait for it to be fixed, I as a consumer demand better for my money spent than to buy something that makes me sick.

Ok, no need to set me on fire just trying to inform you on something I thought you might not have known about.
Now that I mention being on fire I could use a fire blanket right about now

Sorry if that came across as mean and not as I intended it which was to be precise. Mostly I was just pointing out that people just don't understand that everyone is built differently and with different taste. As for this game, a lot of people think people are whining over nothing and I for one have a very good point I think why it isn't "nothing". Bottom line is that because of how this game was coded I can't play it as is. Lucky for me I didn't open my copy and was smart enough to try a rental first otherwise I'd be wasting 60.00.
Now I guess one could say that for someone like me that gets sick over playing a game that it's not the game developers fault. I'd say it definatly is because 99% of the games out there have 0 effect on me, it's only ones like this that have issues that come from poor coding and optimization that bother me. And the only way one would have of knowing about these issues is by reading forums and lots of reviews.
Anyway, yeah I was just clarifying my point. Thanks for the attempted info.
:)
It seems like a lot of people are mistaking "good graphics" for "realistic graphics."
There is a lot of detail, fluid animation, huge areas and varied environments. The screen tearing is horrible though. Hope they deliver a patch soon. I find it more fun to play than bayonetta, but less intense. I like the exploration and the story.
