Dashboard achievements? I don't know what you're talking about, somebody's been lying to you methinks. If you mean how do you SEE your achievemevns, you just go to the game blade on the dashboard, you'll see an option called Achievements. OR, press the guide button, go to your gamercard and view your games.
Go into acheivements and select a game and it should bring up a little box with them listed. Then you select one and it tells you how to get it. And yes, they count towards your gamerscore.
if u have no game in you console and u are in your dashboard... click the guide button then your name thing at the top and it will say dashboard acheivments...
