Here's the deal: I own a 360 with a 20G harddrive. I've recently been thinking of getting a 120GHD because my 20G is getting somewhat close to being filled up and there are still many things I'm planning to download (episodes of The Guild, map packs and such for games). How would I go about transferring all my saved games and stuff from oneHD to the other? Would I have to buy one of the 512MB (or whatever there are) memory cards and use that to transfer info a little at a time? Or is there a way to do a system link with 2 Xbox's to transfer all the data over? If so,a friend of mine has an Xbox I can borrow.

Also, I'm not planning to buy a 120G in a store. My one friend has a brand new one from an Elite that he wants to sell. Not planning to pay $150 for one. I was also considering just buying an Elite myself (since they're $100 cheaper now) and trying to sell my 20G Xbox. What do you guys think of that? I believe the only other difference between the 2 is that the Elite has the HDMI cables included. Right?

Either way I go, I need to figure out how to get all my saved stuff from one HD to the other.

Thanks in advance for any input.

because your not buying the HDD brand new retail, you wont get the transfer cable. I would suggest buying a memory card to transfer all your game saves, and everything else just re-downloading from the marketplace. easiest method.

You can still call up MS and request the transfer kit and pay a small fee (under $15 if my memory serves) or find one on eBay or something and then just sell it when you're done. Memory card transfers are tedious and not necessarily cheaper.

This is always asked every day. The transfer kit comes packaged with the 120 GB HDD. See the end of the transfer cable in the window of the package below...

yep call mircosoft and ask for the data transfer kit. I just ordered it from them and it was $13.80 including shipping. If you go the memory stick way then you will still have to buy the liscense transfer software, which is included in the transfer kit so easier to get the kit.

Okay everyone, thanks for all the input/suggestions. Definately think I'm going to buy my friend's 120GB and then call M$ for the transfer kit. I've looked at the 120GB in stores before, but honestly never noticed the transfer kit that comes with them, so thanks for pointing that out.

The only reason I was considering buying a new Elite (since they're only $300 now) is because my Xbox is a few years old. It'sthe Halo edition one and I bought it right when Halo 3 came out, don't remember the exact date. I've heard so many RROD horror stories and that almost makes me want to just get a new Xbox. Then again, I've done quite a bit of gaming with this one and not a single problem thus far. *knocks on wood*And no, I'm not a huge Halo fanboy, the only reason I bought that version was because it was the only one Best Buy had left and I wanted an Xbox THAT DAY hahaha.
