I got my copy of Dead Rising today, but after about 30 min of playing, i noticed that the fonts in the game are extremely fuzzy and small. Such as the tips/sub/and when texts display missions from the reciever i just aquired. It makes the text unreadable. Is this because i dont have a HD TV? The ingame graphics are fine, but the texts are really annoying since i feel lik im missing out on stuff.cybermario
yah that is because you dont have a hdtv. its annoying i know...i had to play it on a sdtv before i got my hdtv.
I also play on an sdtv, I have no idea when we'll be getting an hdtv. Isn't there some way at all the 360 could be set to look better on sdtv's? I can hardly read the text on most of the games i've played. Cyber, I haven't missed out on anthing important yet, lets just hope it stays this way.
This was such a hot topic last year after Dead Rising's release. Many people were extremely dissatisfied by the fuzzy/blurry text on their SDTV's. The bottom line is that XBOX 360 and the games were designed for HDTV's in mind. I wouldn't be overly surprised if game developers spend all their time making the games look brilliant on HDTV's and could care less about how it appears on SDTV's.
At the same time, HDTV LCDs have come down considerably in price, so that might not be such an investment as before..
HD is gradually becoming the standard, keep up with the times or be left in its dust. This is just the beginning, as we aproach 2009 when HD broadcast becomes standard you will see more and more of this, not only HUDs and text in video games shrinking, but also on TV like smaller displays for sports and news. Advancement in tech is the way of the world, when you think about it the same type issues probibly arose when TV went from blackand white to color, probibly all types of grey scale issues when watching a color broadcast on a black and white screen.I also play on an sdtv, I have no idea when we'll be getting an hdtv. Isn't there some way at all the 360 could be set to look better on sdtv's? I can hardly read the text on most of the games i've played. Are missions displayed as sentences near the bottom of the screen? Or in cut scene so i dont have to try to read it. Or does the map show you the mission locations?cybermarioYeh, it's difficult for me to read too. As for your question about whether or not the map tells where to go, it generally doesn't. But if you go to your watch (left on the D-pad?) It'll bring up your list of current missions. If you select one, an arrow will appear directing you where to go.
