Get a skateboard and avoid them.  You can move fast enough on the skateboard to possibly get by without being hurt.

Or go to the gun shop in North Plaza.  You gotta go there in the first two hours of the game, before you have the first gun fight with Carlito.  If you get there too late you will have to deal with a psychopath who has the place held up.  And at a lower level, he can be a pain to deal with.

Ultra-Alue

You can cover behind a tree and wait for the car to crash into some of those trees and start shooting. With any gun you can kill them, just when they are stuck, point to the head and shoot. You can start with the one at the machinegun, because it's the most dangerous, then the driver and so on. The problem is that they will resurect after a while felipealcar

heres the best way to kill them: get the zombie genocider achievement in 72 hour mode meaning u dont actually play through the game for the story and just to kill 53,594 zombies. after u get whatever ending u get, start 72 hour mode again and when ur in the security room behind the air ducts, get the megaman blaster. kill the convicts when the time comes around with the megaman blaster. the megaman blaster kills each of those convicts in 1 hitKenKen777

perfect strategy! if you can run to the north plaza first, and go to the gun shop, kill the store owner, and grab 2 or 3 sniper rifles and 1 shot gun and run back to the park.wreak

I find it easier if you just grab 3 shotguns and get up close to kill the convicts, but it only takes one shotgun to do the trick.  They are pretty easy because their attack patterns are very easy to get around.

If you get close enough to them the driver will try to run you over, simply run out of the way and then the convicts will begin to circle you.  If you have a shotgun equipped, take shots at the convict behind the machine gun first.  He's the first one you should worry about.  Don't stand still and aim either.  What you do is run after their vehicle at a curved angle, enough so that the machine gunner will miss you when he fires, but not right behind the vehicle because then the driver will back up and try to run you over.  After he fires, you take a shot at him.  It should take around 3 to 5 shots to kill him.  Depending on how accurate you are when running.

 After he's taken care of you can simply stand still and aim at the other two in the vehicle, they will just continue to circle you so they will be pretty easy targets.

it takes a long time to kill the 53,000 zombies.  It will take you at least a day and a half from what I remember.  But the MegaBlaster is sweeeeeet!  And yes, finish the game afterwards, if you don't, you just wasted a ton of time.x4skill
