This game pisses me off big time, i cant beat that clown with the chainsaw for some reason & when i lose i dont feel like starting the entire game over just to fight the same boss over again.magikmark84
Its actually one of the most important bosses , since he drops both the chainsaws when you kill him which are really effective against the bosses which come later.
The way I finished the clown was , i went to a bookshop to grab a book which allows you to use blades for longer durations, grab a couple of swords from a swordshop on the 1st floor and pickup 2 handguns as well. When you reach near the roller coaster thats gone crazy , there is a shop nearby that has two japanese survivors. Pick up a japanese learning book in the store in which they are holed up, talk to them and put them in your party and give them the handguns and take them with you for the clown boss. They act as good distractions for the clown , making him vulnerable for you to strike him from behind with the swords. This might lead to one of the survivors getting killed but its all worth it when you end up gaining 2 small chainsaws which you can store in your inventory.
You can also use a handgun on the clown when he is blowing air into a balloon.Shoot the balloon when the clown is filling it up. It makes the clown vulnerable for a few seconds .
And by the way this is one of the coolest zombie games i have ever played.

You don't have to kill the clown, he's just a side mission. I beat the game without ever doing a single side mission,

I filled my inventory with hokeysticks/ golf clubs, a food item or 2, and a sword
when you get the, aim withthe stick and suprisingly the pucks do good damage,if you ever need to get close, the katana is good, and the food for life, and if you ever run out of pucks, theres a sport stor on the higher levle to get on the ride, or you can get a gun from a cop and use it to shoot the baloons

there's this thing called the "save" feature that allows you to continue from the last time you accessed it. It's pretty neat!
btw... Dead Rising is awesome, but I agree with the previous comment that it has a "steep learning curve."
even though i reckon its a great game i couldn't agree with you anymore about the worst save system ever. I was stuck on a part where you had to get to a mission and my time runs out before i can get there and i am seriously close.
i hate it how theres only 1 save bar and about 2 save points in the whole plaza. My eyes where bleeding with frustration.
although its great to play with friends and all and i love the bosses. It would have to be my least favorite 360 game i own though.

how do you save? when i go to options i dotn see save & sometimes the game auto saves but when i restart the game i odnt see anything that says continue.
This is one of my favorite 360 games. The save system is difficult to master,GoldenBuffalo
No game's save system should be difficult to master. That's as silly as having to master a game's loading system or menu system.
Back to the original question on how to shake off zombies, someone mentioned just use the left analog. That in fact rarely works. This is a common annoyance of the game.
