Ok, so by now its almost guarunteed that everybody who owns a 360 is a little (or REALLY) P.O.ed about the elite comming out at this point. but what about deals for getting it? do u think there might be a "Trade in ur 360 + $100 for Elite" kinda offer or what? MS could make a lot of money off those kind of deals cuz im sure a lot of people are willing to pay $100 for the upgrade and nice black colour right? but nobody really wants to buy a BRAND NEW one!

Yeah, if my current one goes belly-up, I might invest in the Elite; I gave up hope of getting a decent trade-in value for the regular 360 after the laucnh of the Elite LONG ago.

Not really that bothered by it. I think it's a moronic move myself, but what do I know. Also, this new system doesn't even contain the smaller CPU. I don't know what the hell they're waiting for to start manufacturing 360s with the new chipset. So this new Elite is really not worth it since it's STILL not a fully upgraded system. -K

I honestly don't need the elite.20 GB is plenty for me,I delete demos, and don't download Hi-Def movies. My HDTV doesn't have and HDMI port either,so I'm fine with my current 360.

Did you do a survey of all the 10 Million owners? Please...

I could care less about the Elite. I don't want or need more GB or HDMI. I would be pissed if this new version would rarely ever fail like the other 360's but I doubt that is the case

I'm only interested in the HD (I love my demos!).

They'd have to offer something that wouldn't cost me more than just paying the difference ($80). And that's only because the stand alone HD is such a freaking rip-off.

i dont care what comes out it does not bother me unless you care about hdmi its not too much of a difference to me so does not matter the HDD is more what i want but y they call it elite is another story. To me the elite should have included the new chipset like stated by someone already, maybe a built in wireless adapter as well. i do like the price though considering i paid 400$ to get a 20gb hd and component, to pay only 80$ more and get a whole 100gb more is pretty good because now if i want that i have to fork over 180$ more so i would in the end pay 580$ just to have an extA 100GB

My Premium broke yesterday (yeah, I know it says 'last seen 44 minutes ago' or something like that in my sig, but that's me sending no-show explanations to people via xbox.com).  So since my system DID break, and I DO intend to wait a month 360-less for the Elite, I choose the second option.  I didn't go for any of the warranties last time, and I'd hafta spend however much that repair fee is, and I'm reading a lot of 'my returned 360 still doesn't work' nonsense, so I'll just go to Target, snag an Elite, and plop a 2 year warranty on that sucker.
As for 'deals', I work at Target, so thats almost $50 saved on the Elite right there.  My final price AFTER tax will be under $479.99.

The comparison is not the same. You have the option of upgrading a PC one part at a time and to the specs you specifically desire. You are not required to go out and drop another $2500 everytime a new graphics card comes out for an enitrely new system.

Yes we present 360 owners have the option of staying with our current system, but tis just the idea that MS outdid itself so soon with a significantly better system. To say the comparison is the same as the PS2 versus the Slim PS2 or the DS versus the DS Lite is not quite accurate either; those were primarily cosmetic changes and not radical changes to functionality and hardware components.

I feel MS should have been more open with the coming of the Elite if they were truly confident in their prowess as a console powerhouse. Yes, they would have suffered some marginal losses on sales for a few months as we anticipated the Elite's release, but if they felt this new Elite was that much better that the PS3, it would still outsell due to the lower price point- it still beats the PS3 core system by $20.
