Basically take the frag grenade out. That should do the trick.

There isn't one. Wouldn't mind it being added.

I wonder if there's any benchmarks or anything that show the performance differences between installed games and non-installed games.

There is a hard drive tool that reset everything. Select the memory unit and hit "y" it will erase everything and I assume format it.

When it first came out some sites did time certain games and it seamed to improve times overall but not drastically.

I don't notice the difference between installing a game, except it eats up your HD.

That would not have anything to do with defragging. Fragmented drive take longer to access data on the drive but do not affect processing speed (as far as I know?)

I install games because without the installation my 360 makes a TON of noise. Enough noise that it is very distracting unless you're playing at a very high volume.

"The 360 would have a problem." LOL, that's a good one. HDD problems on top of RROD and E74. Good one!

Defragging is so 1990. The 360 does not need it. And I can tell the difference between installed games and ones running off the dvd. Some games are just a few seconds faster and others can be 5-10 seconds faster. Plus you lose the noise and heat from the dvd drive.

Some games are a lot faster... Fallout 3/Oblivion for example... It can cut load times in half for them... It is like that for most open world games on the 360, as far as what I have experienced... (GTA4, Red Faction, The Saboteur, Assassins Creed/2...) They all load faster for me...
