Devil may cry

Hey gys i just played devil may cry demo and it didnt look that great... What do you gys thinkhobosniper3

it was ok.......good game, but not living up to the hype as seems the "fad" lately....(Turning Point, turok, the club....ahem ahem)

Not to sound like a fan boy, but have you guys ever even played the other's? lol...you guys sound crazy right nowCoreoVII

I played all 3, and if you think we're crazy....check out some of the other threads about the demo.....the disappointment is wide spread

completly false...I loved 1 and 3, and 2 was still very decent

so whats the problem, why do you feel unsure about the 4th one, I loved the demo, felt right at home, and ive seen a lot of positive feed back about it mixed in with the bad.CoreoVII

Nothing has truely been Next-gen and nothing ever will be this current. That is just advertising propaganda they want you to buy into to buy their consoles, all this generation is, is the same games with fancier graphics.

And really DMC4 seems like it is pretty much on par with the series. Its for the fans, its pretty dumb to just walk into a new series at the fourth game in the series anyways so the game is only going to appeal to fans.

That's true, i can't really give my personal "next-Gen" award to it, but nero surprized me in the demo, the "revving" of his sword, the dash he does for running long enough, stuff like that, i guess i love it cause i like playing the harder modes to see if i can survive while being "stylish", but yes i agree, not a "next-gen".

Still got to buy it tho

I absolutley am a fan of the Devil May Cry series and I disagree....I do believe that we have games that are next-gen.......COD 4 for example, with things like the ability to shoot through materials.....that to me is next gen....it is new, it's not something common on previous systems.........this whole advertising propaganda rubbish makes me laugh.......I already own the console, if I didn't believe in next-gen games then I wouldn't be mentioning them........NHL 08, with its skill stick, is next gen.....COD 4 with its penetrable walls is next gen.....Assassins Creed with its massive environments is next gen.......Halo 3 with its (just kidding, not next gen)

They sucked me in lol im a fan, and ill play it like i played DMC 1 for the first time, on "dante must die" of course, but yea i keep waiting for trilogy's and stuff, its hard for me right now to open my mind to new stuff like bio shock, ya know? (which i beat and loved too, but you know what i mean)

Yeah because GTA San Andreas on the PS2 didn't have a larger world than AC, no game ever in their right mind has had bullets shoot through walls but hey if it was so next-gen and the bullets go through shouldn't explosions cause some damage to the envirorment? Oh right Red Faction did that on the PS2 as well. The skill stick what is so different about that that couldn't be done on the Xbox or PS2 there was still analog sticks back in the old'in days hell even the PSX could have done the skill stick. Everything you think is next-gen has been or could be done with previous gen hardware. Looks like you just bought into the "NExt-Generation" hype.

first of all, go have a coffee and relax.....I don't remember saying hey Ket, what is your opinion on next gen?...you've basically hijacked this guys thread now..........Second of all......San Andreas was bigger then Creed, but was it as detailed? No....was it as interactive? Definetly not......as far as red faction goes yes that was a great game.....but it didn't take it to the extent that games this generation do; as far as damage to the environment, just shut it and wait for Battlefield: Bad Company......then we'll know about next-gen physics........as far as NHL 08 goes, obviously I am aware that we have had analog sticks but they have never been used in this way....sure "it may have been possible on previous generations" as you said, but the fact is, THEY DIDN'T DO IT......thats like saying I have a ferrari in my garage...but if I can't get into my garage because my key broke, its pointless..........its easy to look back now and say we COULD of done this easily...but back then it wasn't so simple

True that, although i felt the amount of hype for assassins creed was higher, but i guess for good reason, it is something new, although repitive, Ubisoft took a risk and made it, i think they did good, i keep hearing of a sequel so they should be able to fix it to 'perfection".......j/k fix it to better anywayzCoreoVII

I didn't see what was so "new" about assassins creed. They just mixed the acrobits of Prince of Persia with the hide in plain sight stealth from the hitman series. Anyway, I'm a fan of the DMC series and I'm downloading the demo right now(87%), hope it's not as boring as some people say it is.

as I said, combat didn't do it for me as of yet....it's still a buy but it's not, play the demo a million times until the full version.....and you say, how does that make it repetitive.....reviews so far have said that the combat is fairly linear throughout the game, which you have to expect since DMC 1,2,3 were all pretty much the same in that way....

I'm just looking for something new I guess........look at something like Halo 3; exactly the same as 1 and 2.....originality is non-existent......we'll see what the full game has in store

thats exactly what I mean though......people overhype games and thus they never live up to it.......same thing would happen if before you saw every movie you said to yourself...this is gonna be awesome, this is going to be the greatest movie ever made..........99 times out of 100, you are going to be somewhat, definetly not totally, but a little bit disappointed

You can shoot through materials and walls in CS 1.6. >_> That was from like.... 2000 or something. I agree that this didn't feel next-gen. It felt amazing, but not next-gen.

I liked it, it is the true DMC formula that made it so recongnized in the beginning! That lack of change may hurt it also, but i liked the demo.MegamanX97

That is funny, it would be a "hoot", if nero had like a jacket and hoodie on when he hit the blizzard part.

the demo was not as good as i would think it would be but before you flame me i just wana say one thing isint a demo like made to get people excited and race out and by it its realy sota made to have the best bits of a game you know i hope they improve the game its fell short for me you know pwn-flakes
