Because I used to play games for fun and play all the modes and all that, but know it sems if there isn't an achievement to be gained, I'm not gunna play that mode or game type or whatever it may be.

I'd say no achievements make me go back and replay games I probablly wouldn't play again after beating them once.

it has its ups and downs, but overall it has helped give a game its longevity, but at the same time it seems more like work than a actual game, depending on the game of course.

No, while they are very nice to have, because sometimes they make you try things that you wouldn't normally do and give certain games some replay value, they don't really do anything and there is no point in them therefore should not effect the way you play a game

No, I love them because they give me reason to pick up those old games that I paid 60 dollars for, and go through them again.

They're alright, just by reading the achievements you can see how much there is to a game.

Good, because they actually give you a reason to like beat a game on hard mode.

Bad because, people play for them, not for the game.

I used to be like that, but I've grown past it. I just play games for fun now. Start conditioning yourself against it because it really does ruin gaming if you won't play something that's fun just because it doesn't earn you achievements.

i love them. it is hard for me to play other systems just knowing there is no achievement i can see where you are coming from, but i think achievements are great and make you try new things or different gametypes and makes games more fun

Not at all, I think just the opposite. It makes me more eager to explorer more to the levels and play around a bit more than usual. It also keeps me interested a lot longer and gives me more to do. Of course acheivements don't make a game but I think it was a pretty cool idea from microsoft.

i really doubt achievements ruined gaming. im not one to play for avhievements. i play games for the fun of them like you do. but if i earn a few achievements along the way im fine with that.and as many have said it gives longetivity to the short games. but most of all i say they make games worth that extra ten bucks. i mean the ps3 and 360 games cost the same, ahve the same content and everything, but the 360 wins because of those achievements people keep going back for. also avhievements are kidna there to prove that you did that insane difficulty play throuhg or you did that crazy thing some gamers only dream of. so they have a point for the poeple who like them. but for the people who hate them. well just deal with it you can go to a different system if you dont like 360's but there are no other good choices. no offense to owners of other next-gen systems. just an opinion.

I would say no. I've actually played games that I had already beat just to get more achievements.Byadding this achievement feature Microsoft has increased the replay value of a lot of games.
