Is it me, or did Condemned 2's plot go completely the wrong direction?

First game had you going around derelict buildings, fending off against thugs and bums, but also creepy demon-like things and strange people with metal in their bodies that seem to disappear on the spot. number 2 has to fighting the same bums and druggies (albeit one is in a diaper), but now the demons are in your guy's head, and the strange disappearing ninja-metal-men are a secret order using technology to control humanity.

That's steering from the Silent Hill path and leapfrogging too much down the Resident Evil "Plausable reasoning" path for my liking. And plus making Ethan has a super-voice power? Now they've made him a super hero, splintering from the path and going somewhere completely unknown and wrong for the series, in my opinion anyway.

I didn't like the emphasis on guns this time. One of the reasons I liked the first one so much was because of the innovative melee weapons that were scattered all over each level. I don't know how many times I've seen a paper cutter blade and thought, you know how cool it would be to kill someone with this....in a video game.

IMO yes it did. I think they were trying to hard to establish it a franchise. It screams we are making a sequal wether you want it or not. Also the first one creeped me out... bloodshot not scary or creepy at all.

I loved the first one but have no interest in playing the second.
