Okay, so I sold 12 of my games to a place called "GamesPlus", and the total they gave me was $21.00 up front. Or they said I could have $27 in-store credit.

Here were the games I sold to them:

  • Used Copy Of Need For Speed Carbon (2-Disc Special Edition)
  • Used Copy Of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
  • Used Copy Of Ghost Recon: AW (1)
  • Used Copy Of Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Forza Motorsport 2 (2-Disc Set)
  • Used Copy Of Halo 2 (Original Xbox Copy)
  • Used Copy Of Lego Indiana Jones 1/ Kung Fu Panda (2-Disc Set)
  • used Copy Of PGR3
  • Used Copy Of Peter Jackson's King Kong
  • Used Copy Of Burnout Paradise
  • NEW Copy Of PGR4

Did I just get ripped-off? Would GameStop have given me more?

To tell you the truth I really don't know, I think you can either look up the gamestop prices or just call them, but what's the point you already sold them right?

I don't sell games because I've gotten rid of so many games I shouldn't have. I think the best way to sell them is package them on ebay. Sometimes you can get a pretty penny for a lot of 360 games just for people who like to increase their collection, or frompeople who don't know much about the pricing in the industry.

$27 store credit works out to $3 per game.

Yes, you let yourself get ripped off.

gamestop prolly would have gave you about the same, but maybe you could have had like $30-$40 for everything. PGR4 should be your biggest chunk of credit. Maybe $5-$15 for it. That Edge card at gamestop is good, but only works for store credit. In all your 360 games should have gotten you at least half of what you got. Which seems about right, dont ever expect much from old systems and their games. You are better off keeping them since you only get like 2-8 bucks for PS2, GC, and XBOX games. Those stores only want big sellers or currnet games. Well, the games weren't really that great, so you didn't get ripped off, not by much.

anytime you sell games to game stores you will get ripped off badly...i dont understand why ppl do this, when they can just sell them on ebay...some ppl say it is bc it is easier than sellin on ebay bc of convenence...yes this may be true but not by that much...all you have to do, is if you want to sell easily on ebay a bunch of games is just bundle them together...you easily would have gotten 50-60 bucks for all of those games, and all you would have to do is ship them in a box to one person...

well not really all that stuff is really old and it would be very hard to find a store that would give you more. Now if you had sold it on ebay you could probably has gotten much more. Alot of people are wiilling to pay good money for old games.

i agree most are very old games i would not offer that even for a private sale and the same trend is on ebay, for some reason there is no resale value on video games unless you own a video game shop where they are selling pre owned for a few quid less than full price. its not just you we are all being ripped off!!

This thread makes me sad, it's not right that people get taken advantage of like this

Even trading them in to a place like Amazon you'd get 40

It's not right :(

Kinda but not really at the same time. None of those games would bring more than $5 in because they are all under $20 new. You probably would hvae been better off just keeping them.

yes, you got incredibly ripped off considering you could have just put them up on ebay starting off at like $5 a piece and guaranteed you wouldve gotten at least $15 each for most of the games, plus if you played the shipping costs right you couldve made money off of shipping too

Most of those are really old games by 360 standards, but I would still have expected more than that. I think for many people they do trade in once, and are horrified at how little they get and decide never again. I know that's the case for me, and sounds familiar from the other responses above.

You could have done a lot better. $2 for each game? Not even that. Next time, use eBay.

I always believe you can get more money out of just selling them to actual game players, and not stores.

Now GamesPlus will make $20.00+ in profits per game.

Or around there.

If you're a GameFly member, they have a trade in system with great deals. And I wouldn't go back to the store that you sold your games to, I'm guessing you'll get just as bad a deal when you buy games from them.

Well, what's done is done. You could go to Kijiji or Craiglist and sell them seperately (as bundling them causes people to demand bulk discounts) and make like 5 times that.

You might have been able to get better prices selling them on eBay or to friends but not much better. No one really pays much for used games. Besides, unless you were going to play them anymore then they weren't anything to you besides paperweights. This is why I rent or borrow, or buy used games. The only thing that depreciates more in value more than a new car is a new game.

A lot of customers sell their games back because they have an addiction of some sort. Most people don't even know that you can sell their games online for a better profit. Anyway you got jacked. I would've kept those games. I fully agree with the you^^^^
