FROM: Xbox 360 gamers.

TO: Microsoft

Hello? Is there anyone there?

Seriously, where is the news from MS? We have not heard anything exciting from them in such a long time. It's been practically a year since Microsoft released some new and exciting information. Sure, the 360 ine-up is by far the best this year, but what about some new game announcements? Strategy planning? Game shows? New exclusives? Price cuts? Anything! Both Sony and Nintendo are either unveiling brand new games, or talking up numbers and market share while MS is nowhere to be found.

Heck, at this point I'll even take, guys we're still here working on stuff and don't have time to talk to the community.

I remember MS being much more vocal up until this year, releasing new announcements and information practically every day. There was a new interview with one of the Xbox heads every other week, while now we're lucky to get some PR crap from Peter Moore once in a blue moon where he basically unveils nothing. It's like they fell off the face of the earth and said, OK we got the 360 set-up for a good year or so, time for a break.

I haven't really noticed.Anyway I think why it may be quieter is because most of the high profile games are coming out late '07, sometime in 2008, or just "when it's done".

I wouldn't consider the Elite to be very exciting. That's just me.

No not more BS. They could start by making some new game announcements(not everything needs to be saved for E3), or some exclusivity deals with big developers.

Or perhaps they could start to acknowledge just how bad the 360 is suffering in Japan and actually reveal a decent plan to fix that problem so the 360 gets more Japanese support.

They had such a agreat start and set this year up really well, and now they're basically allowing their competition catch up to them. I don't know, perhaps it's just me, but I just get this vibe of a stall in their Xbox 360 division right now.

What's weird to me is; how NG2 has only been announced in Japan and not in the rest of the world. If they officially announce NG2 globally at E3 I have all the good news I need to last me a year.

what do you mean? they've been too busy banning people and trying to up their "pirating" protection software.. it's all over the web. i agree with you though.. they have been cutting back on announcements. PS3 is getting crap copies.. wii didn't live up to the "godly" hype it was thought to be either.. microsoft prolly feels there's no need to unveil anything until e3 ^^ like someone said above. they've got the lead this year.

I'm taking a bet that they are going to spill the news (hopefully lots) at E3 this year which is sometime next month if i remember correctly.

Maybe I'm confused, but what do you care?  I mean...unless you're a Japanese resident, why would you possibly care about what strategy Microsoft is taking to expand sales of their console there?

As for exclusivity deals, don't hold your breath.  Exclusivity is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

I don't know.  I guess if I want info on new games, I look to the publishers, developers, and sites like this one.  I don't really get in to the whole Microsoft key note speeches.  It's all just marketing rhetoric anyway.

Wasn't last year the LAST YEAR for E3? I remember them saying something about that. Did they change their mind? I thought they were going to put on more independent shows now and not have them all there at once. I'm not doubting anyone I just want to know.

And let's not forget the earth-shattering information regarding $10 Pac Man.

It's all good though. I don't need news from Redmond... I'm content watching this YouTube video of Steve Balmer as he "dances like a monkey". If y'all haven't seen that, you might want to search it.

Huh?  Halo3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc, etc.  That's all the "exciting" news you should need to know about your 360.  Not to mention that MS has been updating the dashboard on a pretty regular basis as well as adding to the BC list.  Cross platform gaming between 360 & PC is now possible with the 360, they're coming out with a QWERTY peripheral for your controller, (tell me a browser isn't on the way), and XNA allows you to create games that you will soon be able to put on the Marketplace for $.  SEriously, what more could you possibly want????

You are totally right.  Competition is showing cool (and more importantly NEW) stuff while there hasn't been a new game announcement in a while.  Or at least anything memorable...  I do hope they are saving stuff up for E3 which is likely.

Well the big crazy E3 is dead.  They have made it smaller but it is still alive.  I think it goes by a different name now but it is still E3 just not in the same form as it used to be.

Yeah, I just read the article of Gamespot about it. I respect that they are doing that, I think it gives more attention to the big wigs and such, and who knows...maybe they will learn a little bit about their product before they start marketing it now. I think this will also only make "The Big 3" Consoles even more competitive though. At the same time....I always wanted to go to one of them crazy E3's! It is still important to let your actual AUDIENCE in on what is going on in the gaming community.

Microsoft has a great line up thats out, Forza 2, PGR 3, RB6 Vegas, Gears of War etc and has BioShock, Mass Effect, Halo 3 etc on the way...not to mention the fact we can expect the continuation of the stuff thats out like pgr4, gears 2 etc. Plus you can be sure to see some announcements at e3, make this thread again after E3 if you still feel the same then there may be something of a debate...but even if E3 isn't as great as I expect, then theres already that stuff we know about and already have.
