Did they fix the RROD ?

Serious question. I want to get one but with my luck Ill get RROD. Does anyone know if they fixed it?

Not as bad as before. But still present.

Disc read errors are popping up too. (See: GTA4 thread)

All in all, still too unreliable for my tastes.

The problem has been reduced to the level of any other hardware, it is now no more unreliable than the PS3 or Wii or a TV.

You have the exact same chance now of a 360 breaking as any other system. 1) I recommend getting x360 now because theres already a TON of great games out that you're missing out on, with more on the horizon 2) just watch this video and you'll be all set: http://youtube.com/watch?v=m3PbS1u98O4

Ive never had the RROD since i got my Xbox 360 sometime ago , I do however have an incredibly noisy fan I guess its a fair trade off.

Thanks for that Its just really hard to own only one console this generation.So many good games for them all.

My launch console made it 2 years and died in January, I got sent a replacement and that died on me today (manufactured Sept 2006). I needed a system to keep playing GTA 4 so I bought an Arcade system that was made Feb 29, 2008 and I can't attest to how long it will last, but it is so much quieter than my other 2 it isn't even funny. The HDMI is nice too.
