Nice i knew it would happen eventually although a new developer may not be a good thing. Starbreeze is the reason the darkness was a great game. The kinda used the same formula that they started with escape from butchers bay. Im sure if they were making it the sequel would be amazing but since their not im a little concerned.
New developer? hmm.... I did like the first one, but I tend to always lose my interest every time I attempt to complete the game... I tried from the start a few times and I only get about half way without getting a bit bored of it lol. I will do it one of these days...Ashley_wwe
You have to complete the darkness..It is an amazing game mate! One of the few games that have really huge production values i.e. every single aspect of the game is top notch - graphics, sound, voice acting...
Your loss... The game had mad character, and oozed style. I still feel the urge to play through it again every now and then. I didnt really get a grip on his darkness powers until near the end of the game. :(i didn't like the game i thought it was boring.

I only played the demo of it off of Live and I didn't play a boring part at all. Actually the complete opposite it was action packed crazy gore gun blazing demon shredding goodness. Ripping hearts out of people and speeding down the road in a police chase yea I can see where it was boring lol.
(If people are playing the game) Also I noticed with that game if you call a demon from the portal and follow it usually it leads you to what you got to do next. Like finding the vent that opens up the door to where you burn up the money.
With the new developers working on it I think its a good idea. I liked the way the demo played but there can be room for improvement and giving it to someone else might be good for the game I think. I don't want a total change to it but some fresh ideas from an outside developer might do it some good. I would of liked the original developers to do it but I don't want them to rush and put out a poor quality game because they gotta finish other projects.
Hopefully the new developers can take it more in the direction of the comics.
Edit: the article is a year old. We haven't heard anything in over a year. Chances are, it's been quietly dropped.

I do understand where you're coming from :). I will play it again someday, maybe the next time I haven't got any other game to play at that moment in time (which will be a while, as I am getting a lot of games that will hold my interest for a long time at Christmas). But I will have to before/if this one comes out :P. Call me weird, but I think I would actually prefer it if it was pretty much the exact same game it is now, but I would probably, personally, enjoy it more if the game didn't have side-missions and free roam as such and there wasn't any magical powers. But to be honest that takes a lot away from the game doesn't it? it would be similar to games like Condemned or F.E.A.R. (which I will be getting at Christmas if you've seen my thread, the whole series! :D). Maybe it was just a part of the game that made me lose interest. But next time I will have to continue from where I got to and maybe I was wrong :). It could turn out to be the Cistern (Tomb Raider I) of The Darkness where I am at now :P.That article was posted onJul 28, 2009 02:30 AM, hardly new :P
Anyway, I loved TD so I want to see a TD2.

Wow, really? ah well, let's not write it off just yet. Games like Brothers In Arms are apparantly coming out, but was first talked about over a year ago, and a mention of it somewhere a few months ago... it also has it's own part on Wikipedia (red link though), and has been for a long while, so the same could be for The Darkness. Perhaps they are just working on other projects first. If we don't hear anything AT ALL in the next two years, then I would say start doubting it around that point... probably :P.Please Log In to post.
