Poll Did you purchase Black Ops 3 Digitally or Physically? Why? (21 votes)

Physically at GameStop 10%
Physically not at GameStop 33%
Digitally from PSN or XBL 24%
Digitally on PC 0%
Digitally as part of a console bundle 5%
I don't own that game... yet! 29%

Did you purchase Black Ops 3 Digitally or Physically? Why? If you purchased it physically, where did you buy it from? I am trying to run a survey to get data on this subject. Just trying to get a sense of how much of the market is going to digital and what are the main reasons why people are preferring one means over another.

I bought the physical hardened edition ( I´m a sucker for steel books and things like that ) from a Mercado Libre ( e-bay for Latin America ) seller that specializes in limited/collector´s editions, he´s been my supplier for most purchases of that kind.

Digital. No point in owning discs anymore when it all just installs onto the HDD. Maybe if someone has a slow download or low bandwidth.

Fully digital of course. Most people are transitioning to digital these days. BTW, you should have put this in the multiconsole section so that PS fans can also vote towards your survey since you included PSN in your poll.

I didn't buy it yet and don't know if I should. Is it any good? How does it stack up the past Call of Duty's?Is the multiplayer better/worse then past Call of Duty's?

Is it just me or is Black Ops III not making as big as a splash as other Call of Duty's?I don't hear much about it.

Any replies would be nice,Thank You.

I support physical and I don't support buying at Gamestop. I hardly shop at Gamestop since other retailers like Best Buy, Target, and even Walmart offer better deals like B2G1F on new games, 20% new games, or even 5% new purchases. Gamestop is where I go maybe once a year too look at old used games I can't find new.

I buy physical console games so I can freely lend/sell/trade/borrow/gift/value collect my games without internet or DRM middlemen.

Why does anyone need to justify why they bought a game physically or digitally?

If you like physical games....then great. If you like digital games, then great.

Physically for 2 reasons. I want to collect Call of Duty games. There are enough of them to start forming a collection and I've been a fan since 2003 :) And 2nd, I like to collect steel cases and they always come with steel case versions.

You sound like one of those people who just follow a crowd without ever stopping to think. When someone asks you why you're doing something, your answer is simply, "Because everyone else is doing it lol :D"

@kvally: What do you mean "us"? Are you like the geth, sharing a group mind or two twins who came out in a single body?

I don't know why the poster posted "us". It struck me as a strange appeal for help, perhaps?

You are right. Instead of a reason why, the post was using justification by looking at what was believed "most people" are doing.

"Us" being the rest of the world that have accepted the "fact" digital sales are growing and physical sales are shrinking. You are welcome to put blinders on to that fact, while the rest of "us" will know what the facts "are".

The one thing I refuse to do, is stoop to your level of attempting to insult. Hopefully that works for you though.

Some people just enjoying forcing their personal beliefs on others. Their beliefs as well as their desires. They want people to conform to them, and not allow others to have their own choices or mindset. It's a growing problem plaguing the society today.
