I think he's a whiner, but Microsoft should still change their Online Transactions system.

I couldn't care less...people sue M$ all the time, what normal civilian would have a better lawyer than a microsoft representative lol ? Live should be free in the first place if we're gonna have to pay for DLC and Arcade games.

where else do you go and buy something and they make you put more money in an account than you want to spend ???

just charge a dollar amount and I can keep my money in my account and not MS not to hard to understand.

and dont say not everone has a credit card they have the visa cards at any bank that you can load it up with cash and then you could spend it on anything you want. with the system now you are forced to spend what ever you have in points with MS

Their online service is far superior than psn...And nobody is forcing you to pay for anything.

No, what you like to call "basic" online isn't even close when it comes to Live and it's counterparts

I and many others have standards when it comes to service and see no problem in paying for it. If Live lowered it's quality to what was offered elsewhere I just wouldn't use the service, it wouldn't be worth my time.

Charging for Live doesn't make them break even, its added profit...they wouldn't be losing money by reducing the price of Live, also I've paying for it 3 years now It doesn't hurt me financially to pay for it (as I'm not the one who actually pays for it lol) but I still believe it should be free...but of course this is the internet were people jump on you for having an opinion.

i agree with jaysonguy psn isn't that good or nintendo wifi connection, xbl always comes through for me when i play online and its just a great service overall.

when you've been playing xbl since halo 2 and recently just got a ps3 you notice tons of different things like amount of arcade games and the annoying connecting to every game to play online, it's ridiculous, and i relaly hate how all the psn games dont have free trials like the xbl ones

i agree, this is guy is making a senseless complain. all ms was doing is to help customers who are skeptical of releasing their credit card details online. ms could have given more options though, both credit card and ms points.

It is stupid. He is suing over the payment options on an entertainment site. If he didn't like how Microsoft had set it up, he shouldn't have used it. It is not like they hide it. You know how many points they are charging to you buy each item and you know the point increments that they sell BEFORE you buy them. If he can't do the math, is that really the fault of Microsoft?

It's too bad we don't know his gamer tag. Then we could all add him and make his xbox experience unforgettable! ;)

MS points are essentially a gift card.No matter what you spent the full amount and you don't actually get change back except to that specific store (unless it is one of those credit card gift cards...). You can't translate MS points to anything else and make it work.

EDIT: And I am agreeing with you just so you know. I just wanted to fix how you were making the money work. Anyway, I don't see how this guy has a valid case at all. Now I haven't read everything (or anything), but this works so much like a gift card (hell the card in the store is essentially one) that he would have to go against them too. He is buying credit for a store (which is what you do with a gift card) and I do know there have been people upset over gift cards too.

Eh, like to point out a lot of that stuff in Avatar shop goes to the Devs. Microsoft even offers a system where the devs can program in avatar clothing to be earned from playing their games. Only Left 4 Dead 2 (Valve) and Halo 3/ODST (343/Bungie/Microsoft) have done this. And when DLC coming from publishers like EA and Activision, you could never expect free.

Right now, the fee is fine, in fact, it was probably created to make up for lost money on each Xbox Original sold, in which every 23,000,000 units lost MS money.

Couple that with their RROD blunder this gen, that's more money.

Essentially, MS wants to establish their Xbox branch of the company to be independant(not syphoning off of the OS branch), if I assume correctly. If they see continual profits, the next generation of Xbox should be even smoother run for them, so right now, I'll be one of those to stick by this, but if they keep it up and can no longer compete because they're caught up in charging for most things, then it's a valid complaint.

Anyhow, This guy in the court case should probably get a background check, if he's out of a job recently, it's safe to say he's just taking advantage of the court system and trying to get an easy out-of-court settlement. Not trying to be inconsiderate, but he himself is being so.
