Hey everyone, I know that this question has probably been asked before, but I didn't see it on the recent thread pages. I'm leaning towards getting the $199 version of the Xbox 360 Slim and then later getting a harddrive as an upgrade. The question I have is, besides the harddrive what are the differences, if any, between the two models?

It would be nice to have a URL link to the 2 systems but i am sure i can answer without them.

the 199 slim is just a regular xbox with no memory the 4 gig is just flash memory.

the 299 is the same thing but with a hard drive, and hard drives are the shnizzle

Right. Everything else in the package is the same right? Headset, HDMI cable, Wireless Controller, etc?

Without seeing a link to the actual product it would only be an educated guess but i am fairly certain that the only difference is 1 has the hard drive and the other does not. When you go to purchase the product i would ask the clerk if they know the difference between the 2 prices.

I was planning on asking a clerk if I couldn't get an answer here. I just figured that Gamespotters would know. Anyway, thanks for your help. I've got another hour before I go to the store, so I'll keep checking this thread just in case I get any new info. :)

The $199 one can't play Halo co-op. Not worth it, IMO. I was planning on asking a clerk if I couldn't get an answer here. I just figured that Gamespotters would know. Anyway, thanks for your help. I also plan on getting the 4gb model at the end of October, everything seems to be the same, except the 250 has a glossy finish but the 4gb has a matte. The matte finish actually is supposed to attract less dust, which is cool, and I like the look of matte over the gloss. But I don't think the 4gb comes with a headset.

save your self the trouble and get the 299 one for the hard drive... or buy one off ebay right away

the only thing differnt is the 199 is not a shiny coating like the 299 one dose

and

4gb flash vs 250gb hard drive

i believe it dose not come with a mic because microsoft believes the 4gb is for people who don't have internet now days... wierd right? someone above said the mic is rubish well the mics are pretty decent. alot people used them and myself i used one from my xbox over a year then it broke

lol you think a store clerk would know all they know is how read the title on the xbox and look at you with a stupid face and make a guess when you ask them something...

The 4gb is better suited for someone, like me, who isn't really interested in online gaming, and will play singleplayer or offline co-op.

Do what I did, I went to amazon and paid $170.00 for a brand new 250gb xbox. Its a little cheaper than some places.

the 199,99 one comes with everything the arcade has but instead of memory card you get 4 gigs of space
