it really is like oblivion with guns (in a bad way).. the combat is clunky and lame and unrewarding..

i find myself wandering around for too long wishing i would encounter something but then once i do encounter someone all i want is to be done with it

still ive only spent about 2 hrs with the game, but im completely turned off, i would rather be playing mass effect, but just like in fallout i'm stuck and i cant get advance, even though im playing on the easiest setting (god i must be awful, seems everyone else is handling it fine)..

BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO CHEATS??

all i want is infinite health and ammo so i can breeze through the game, and have fun with it save the frustration of having to repeat things over and over

hopefully it gets better maybe once i engage myself with other characters and quests, if only i had enough health and ammo to get through it :(

the game really does get better the further you get with the story. and if you get stuck go though you pip boy and look at your quests. they put a marker on your map telling you whare you have to go and the quickest route.

and i guess most people felt that brezzing though a game with inifite health is kinda lame and takes the fun out of a game

You have to immerse yourself in the wasteland, the fun part about the game is the fact that you don't run into encounter after encounter. It is a wasteland, and you have very limited supplies/guns/ammo. Using cheats really makes the game boring fast.

Well, you certainly can judge a 100+ hour game from playing 2 hours of it but how about you do what about a million other people did and play it through a bit further? Then maybe you'll understand why so many magazines/websites gave it Game of The Year.

cheat for infinite ammo and health totally defeat the purpose of the game man. you seem like the type that just likes straight into it action all the time, so might as well just return this game and get something else.

Maybe your looking for a more casual game and with 2hrs of gameplay you haven't done anything yet. Fallout3 is all about immersing yourself in this post apocalyptic world were your actions have consequences (You kill a character thats it their dead). The combat system isn't the tightest (especially after playing AAA FPS) but compared to turn based RPGs its awesome. If your looking for cheats or an easier experience then your kinda missing the point maybe trade/sell it for something different. What games fit your taste???

i agree, compared to oblivion its not that great of a game, it was really a step backwords. they did do some things better, but they did more things worse. i probobly would have loved it if i never played oblivion, and if i didn't get so hyped.

I haven't played the 360 version much. However, i've spent over 60 hours on the pc version. If you don't like Oblivion and Fallout 3.. I dunno.

When I first played Fallout 3 I hated it, after being so hyped. I stuck with it for another few hours, soon I had lots of caps and found lots of ammo and stimpaks. Once that happens, and you're fully equipted, it becomes much more enjoyable. Just stick with it for a bit, do some of the Wasteland Survival Guide quests to get exp.
Fallout 3 is my favourite 360 game so far.

EDIT: And you want cheats? For an RPG? Maybe you're just not suited for RPGs then, because cheats just ruin what RPGs are all about (levelling, getting stronger).

The game is awesome. I remember when I started playing it, I was kind of lost. I died a lot of times in my early levels due to lack of ammo and health. That didn't stop me from playing it. After I leveled more I noticed the game became great as you could take several enemies and doing quests is great. Seems to me like this might not be your type of game.

Well, this game is really hard when you first start, but it actually gets easier the more you level up. At level 20 you can pretty much do anything you want and there's nothing anyone can do to stop you. But yeah, the first few hours of this game are definitely challenging.

Fallout 3 is a 50/50 game, for those too used to games like Halo and COD, it would feel slower, less run and gun and more run and plan, especially early on in the game while you're finding weapons, armour and learning your way around as well as improving with the controls.
Unlike with Oblivion, in Fallout 3 it's wise not to venture out too far in one go until your levels improve. Learned that the hard way when I entered building and some lunatic came down some stairs with a flame thrower and almost killed me. After being killed three times by those annoying rad scorpions, had barely any ammo and my baseball bat wasn't holding together all that well, I decided to make a hasty retreat to Megaton and go slow.

Of course six hours later I encountered my first Deathclaw and decided that I was making far too many mistakes, so I restarted and did much better the second time round. I've still not finished it, been caught up with other things, but I'll get there, I'm in no rush.

You don't need cheats for a game like Fallout 3, you just need patience, the wisdom to know when to fight and when to make a run for it, and the willingness to hold back on your exploring until you're strong enough.
The only true cheat is the player and how you play.

If you really need the cheats, you could get it on a PC.

Check the The Vault, it has some of the console commands listed there.

It sounds like you may be trying to play Fallout 3 like a run and gun shooter like Halo. Are you using the V.A.T.S. system sufficiently? You'll save a lotof ammo using V.A.T.S. It may not be how you want to play, but using V.A.T.S. seems to be how the developers meant Fallout 3 to be played. Played as a regularfirst person shooter, Fallout 3 doesn't control nearly as well as other top FPSs out there.

I really enjoyed the game. I think a pseudo cheat you can do requires getting Operation Anchorage and the Pitt. I got the Chinese Stealth Armor from OA and the Perferator from the Pitt and I think I took damage maybe 3 times in the game after that (Broken Steel aside where my armor broke and I had to muscle up and use the Tesla Armor). It's like a cheat because you're invisible and silenced and no one can see you.

Well, I do agree the VATS is kind of clunky but workable at best. I cannot recount the number of times I got "0% targeting" when my target is standing right in front of me. I've seen other games done a much better job with the 'pause-and-play' combat (e.g. Mass Effect) whilst retaining the thrills of an action game. If you really want to play it as an FPS, my advice is that you max out your 'Small Guns' skill early as it accounts for whether your bullet goes to the spot you are aiming for.

I know it is tough at first, but 2 hours is not enough to get used to it. Plus once you settle into your character and have the weapons you like and 100 points in repair then the game is really good. Use V.A.T.S more, and when using them you keep pressing the Right Bumper on the head to key up multiple successive shots, best way to down harder enemies.

It does get a lot better and cheats are for very new players not hardcore gamers and if you want it to be easier turn down the difficulty or you can turn it up for 5 minute long fights and 12 clips of ammo which will get you out of the slump of needing a fight. Cheats are out of date on most Xbox 360 games because of the achievement system they don't want people cheat there way to 2000 points.

you dont rush through RPGs, that completely defeats the purpose of the game and cheats are only fun once you've actually completed the game. until then, they are just that, cheating; an easy way to finish something u cant
