Just picked up my LE @ Gamestop (first one there!), but upon opening it, I was alittle disappointed. The DVD case looks nothing like what's pictured on the box. I thought there was supposed to be some of art book, but instead there's a "art cover" on the manual. The Big Daddy figure is cool though, heavy enough to bash someoe's skull in. Oh well, bought the game for the experience. I can't believe somone is trying to sell the LE on eBay for $300 (includes a face plate).

You could probably get good money on ebay with that becuase I know a lot of people who were interested in the Collector's Edition but missed out. The faceplate by the way is Limited Edition and was only given to Gamestop managers.

Eh..same game in either edition and that's what matters to me. How much more is the LE anyway? I'll probably pick up the SE version later today..

It was standard limited edition price, $69 but was a Gamestop/EB exclusive.

I'm thinking about buying the game.

But I hope to not be disappointed by that.

The faceplate is why the guy is selling the game for $300. It isA LOT more rare than the LE version of the game.

I picked up my BioShock at noon. Brought a Circuit City ad to get it for $50 at Best Buy.

Ahh OK..so not outrageously expensive like other LE's. :)

Read the reviews, play the demo and you'll know what you expect. Don't buy the game before doing both..

All LE's are $70 arent they? Can't wait to play, but I told myself to finish Psychonauts first (brillant game!).

circuit city does it pretty often, not sure about the other guys. If there's a FRY's near you, their new release titles are always $10 off the SRP (thats only for the first couple of days though)

I like the three period songs included and teh making of dvd is interesting. Overall I'm glad I got the collector's edition, as a game liket his deserves my extra 10 bucks. (Got it for the PC, so it's the same price as the 360 version, too :) (It looks roflamazing maxed out, too))

I've read reviews, thats just what makes me unsure haha.

Some people say how awesome it is, and the others say its not worth it and they are going to sell it since they beat it and such.

Played the demo twice, pretty fun. but still, not sure.

I want to do every little part of the game, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough.

Well..the game is going to be in the 15-20 hour range to do everything in the game. Additionally, with some of the moral choices and plasmid/tonic combos you're going to end up experiencing different games if you play it a few times. Not sure if you're the kind of person who re-plays the game from beginning just to try something new..if you do, it might be worth it.

I'm sure it'll be a while before you'll be able to rent this game and/or buy it used. So buying it new would be the only way to play..and from all I've seen..it's cool..

Now if you're the kind of gamer that's gonna sit there and play non-stop for a couple of days..then you'll probably do everything very quickly and be bored with it..a game like this will probably take me about 3-6 months to finish with the little time that I do get to game..

If you explore everything in the city, the devs say you can spend 30 hours on it. Not sure if that's true or not...

As far as the LE goes, I was reading the Bioshock forums probably 9-12 months ago, and they were still trying to decide what content would be included. I believe that the picture that has been floating around was a picture showing everything they were considering, but they were only going to include two of the following:

Big Daddy figurine

Cloth poster

Metal Case

Art Book

Stickers

"Making Of" DVD

Soundtrack

They actually gave us three of these, and did the manual in an "art book style". So while people greatly misunderstood what they were going to get (and maybe it was misrepresented), the Bioshock team actually gave people more than what they committed to.
