Apparently, LA noire holds 3 discs. The xbox is suppose to last for another 3-4 but how is MS gonna deal with this? Can they use some other way of selling games? USBs? Digital Format?

Anyone who makes a big deal about switching disks needs to be slapped, seriously. More and more games will start getting multiple disks and the only ones who are going to care besides the cows are the people who started playing games this generation. You switch disks everytime you want to play a different game, I don't see how switching disks a few more times is any different.
What is the big deal with switching discs? It's kind of nostalgic :P Amnesiac23
When playing FFXIII on my Xbox my friend told me, "you aren't a real Final Fantasy fan unless you swap disks". Man that's an awesome quote. I like buying multidisk games because it makes it feel like you're buying a really long game.
I don't mind switching discs until I want to play a different game and I forget that I already have a game in my 360.
This gen does have at least another 2 years in it and LA Noir is one game out of the hundreds that come out. Most still come one one disc so i dont see the problem and if a game does go over 1 disc guess what it can use 2 discs there's nothing wrong with that.

Great quote. :P I remember being a kid and loving the feeling of achievement when I reached the next disc.I somewhat agree on annoying disc swaping. I was playing Lords of Shadow and when I want to revisit places back and forth, the disc swaping gets in the way. magicalclick
I heard that if you install Castlevania on the hard drive, you don't have to swap discs. I don't have it so I don't know for sure but I thought that I read something to that effect. This could be the answer to disc swapping if more companies would actually implement it.

I did installed both. It stilltells me to swap. :(
Normally I would agree that swapping discs is not a huge deal, but I have LoS and I found this to be annoying, too.
I'm sure it will with Kinect being fairly recent. Probably go for 10 years I'd say (from its original launch in late 2005).There's no way the 360 is lasting another 3-4 years. I'm betting Microsoft announces a new console at next year's E3 with a newer disc format.

They could have avoided this problem if they would have used a HD-DVD drive instead of a DL-DVD drive. Yes I know the format is discontinued for movies but it would have been just fine for games. 15Gb single layer, 30Gb dual layer.

A couple of my 360 games are on multiple discs. Star Ocean: The Last Hope is four discs!
Gen007
i have star ocean and its only 3 unless maybe you have the international ver?
I believe the international version is PS3 exclusive. My thoughts exactly. Odds are, if you're the one complaining about this then you're the one that needs every bit of exercise you can get. It's less of a distance to walk to your xbox and change discs than it is to your refrigerator and get that last piece of chocolate pie.So many threads on this for such an insignificant problem.

I personally don't expect the Xbox to last past 2012 before a new one is on the market. (I figure an announcement at E3 and then starting sales the same week like they did with the Slim)
Swapping discs is no big deal but when your main competition can claim an advantage by selling games that don't need disc swapping you have to do something to fix the situation. Allowing people to install all the discs and just play from one disc would be a temporary solution, but they need to get a blu-ray drive or some other high density format into the Xbox soon if they want to stay competitive.
I still think they missed the chance with not putting a BD in the Slim and then offering two versions of their larger sized games like how companies sometimes sold games when PCs first switched over to DVDs from CDs. You could get larger games on one DVD or like 7 CDs.
