While the Xbox 360 was in the vertical position and spinning Gears of War, the disk must have moved out of its tray because the game began to stall and glitch up suddenly, followed by a pleasant grinding noise in the machine.

Needless to say, I turned off the Xbox immediately. And my disk was only slightly scratched. Unfortunately, it seems that the disk was scratched in such a way so that when I approach the same level in Gears where the error first happened, the game often crashes due to the disk being "unreadable".

The scratch is very light and sometimes hard to even see. What would be the best product to fix up my disk?

Also out of curiosity, have any of you had the same problems with the 360 scratching your disks while in the vertical position. I no longer put the 360 in that position even though it was designed for that, no?

here is the thing you should never have your xbox vertical mannthedan

i always have my xbox 360 vertical for; a few reasons

1. heasink is on the left side of the xbox360 if it is vertical and can get real hot under the strand of your t.v or where ever you put it

2. it lookes cool

As for your disc ive had that problem before. it happens when you have the 360 vertical and you open the disc drive when the disc tray comes out you will notice that there are two tooth like clips at the bottom to keep the inserted disc attached and still. something could have happened as you inserted the disc. as for cleaning the disc i suggest you do what i did. i rubbed it with a tea towel for a really long time untill it started to heap up considerably that done the trick for me. hope i helped dude.
