I am on my 2nd Halo 3 disk in the last 2 years. The first one was scratched in the xbox and died. I just found out that this disk can't load the campaign any longer (just as I wanted to try Legendary difficulty), but it still boots up the game properly and plays multiplayer. My question is this: If I rent out Halo 3 from blockbuster or somewhere, save the game to my HD, and return it, will I be able to launch H3 from my disk (the one that doesn't play campaign)? Help would be much appreciated.

Yes that would work. But because it is Halo 3 you will suffer performance problems (Halo 3 is not recommended to be saved to the HDD).

My friend had a similar problem with CoD 4. He downloaded my CoD too his Xbox when I let him borrow it and afterward was able to boot it up fine with his own bad disk so I think it should work for you.

Yeah, it worked for my friend and I so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you.
