Hey, do you guys know what it means when your 360 tells you to download a media file update that doesn't exist after you try to play a .avi or.divx file? I tried a couple of videos of variable encoding in both .divx and .avi, but the aforementioned situation occurs every time I try to play one of them. I used a portable device (USB stick).

try and watch another .avi or .divx file and when it says u need to download a update, go to download update or whatever it says and it should take you to the a screen that has a thing called optional media update or something, download that even if you already have before and see if they will play after that

You should be able to access the required DL from the blade that pops up when you try to play the file.

It's a bit confusing because the description doesn't say that the DL will enable divix. but Ipod compatibility and mpg4 playback.

Ah, I ignored the file since I had already downloaded it, but I see now that I need to re-download it. Thanks!
