DLCs across profiles

So i had a gamertag that MS deleted the windows live ID to so i could no longer uprgrade my account to gold after my card ran out. Thus i made a new tag. All of our old save files were on the original tag so thats were we dowload any DLCs like the Pitt. Does this mean that only the original gamertag can use the DLCs or can i play that content on my other profiles as well?

Any account on that console can use the DLC. Only the original account can download it, though. You'd need to pay to download it with another gt.

I don't understand why you can't renew your gold membership? You can just do it via marketplace on your console. It's how I do it. My card is attached to my gamercard. I don't even have a windows live account I don't think.

If the current xbox you have is the one you created your original gamertag on then all profiles should have access to DLC automatically. However, if you've ever had an RROD or bought yourself a new system and are just using the original hard drive, then you would have to do a liscence transfer of all the DLC to the current system (you can do that on xboxlive somewhere). Once all the liscences for your DLC gets associated with your current xbox's serial number, then you should be able to use your DLC automatically across gamer tags.

As far as the save files go, I think you CAN copy them to your other profile. You might need a memory stick to do it though (copy from HD to memory stick then back to HD under a new profile). But I'm pretty sure, as the other poster said, you can't earn achievements on those copied save files. Anyways, this part I've never tried for myself, so not entirely sure.
