I just went to play some FNR4, a patch applied, and OMG, as the fight loads Bing is shown on the Top, then Bing is shown in the middle of the ring, then when round was over a Bing logo floated in the middle of the air, what gives? Is there a opt out method or something, thats really annoying paying $60 for it now to be ruined by ads galore.

No, they dont. And it really bugs you that much?... If anything I think it makes it more realistic, now if the bing label was sitting over Tyson and Ali's head, Ide be a little more upset

The sports games have adds in them but they don't detract from the game. I actually think it adds to the authenticity.

No but there are a lot of games that have them, in a sports game I can see the point, its annoying but it fits, in games like burnout its a bit annoying,,,,

Real ads make more sense for a game that tries to be realistic, and if it doesn't affect the gameplay then people shouldn't care that much.

It's in the game :P FNR3 had loads of paid adverts in it, with contest named after sponsors. NFS has been sponsored by various companies, with the Coca-Cola add on pack, the Lithium Energizer add-on pack to name a couple. In some circumstances, and done well, I don't really mind in game ads. If the ad seems relevant to the placement and atmosphere of the game then I'm usually ok with it, but when it feels like a forced in your face "use this product" type ad it spoils the game. If a game has vending machines I would have no problem with them being branded with Coca Cola or Pepsi, instead of some made up name. I don't mind billboards updating with ads if they are done in a way that blends or fits in with the surrounding area - so no pristine condition ads in a devastated war torn city.

Sports are full of advertisements and sponsors. Putting them in games makes it seem even more realistic, as if the thing is really happening live.

Yea I dont mind them at all. Their not taking our money they are taking money from the ad people to put the add up. I like seeing it in the corner by the score on Madden and when they show the scores.

That is kind of dumb to have it there just floating. If they popped it on the screen like an advertisement would pop up if you were watching tv that would be okay. And I totally just realized I put, "The sports games have ADDS," instead of ADS... Wow... I need to slow down my typing a bit...

Now that would be over the top. Also, why would Pepsi choose Dante's Inferno?

In sports games it isn't such a big deal and they were done well in burnout paradise but when they are completely unnecessary to a game it can be cumbersome.
