Do any of you think mass effect is really boring?

i was really looking forward to playing mass effect, (but when i started playing on it i got bored very quickly) who knows maybe its because im playing it like a 3rd person shooter and not a rpg, but it seems very slow paced (yes i do usually like rpg's

Give it a chance. It does start off really slowly, especially all that back and forth crap in the Citadel, but soon after it really picks up. If you're expecting it to be a 3rd person shooter, its not. Its an RPG first and foremost, but the shooting elements were well done in my opinion. The game is really great for the story, minor exploration, combat (gets better as the game goes on), and characters. I really felt a connection to the characters and some of the decisions you make have a big impact...or shall I say Mass Effect.

I've played through it 3 times and yes at this point it is kind of dull.

The main reason is that I can't skip dialogue. I would really like to since I already know the story.

I made the mistake of doing all the UNC missions before doing the main storyline missions which slowed things WAY down for me. If I had it to do over I would just run throught the main missions and call it a day since I don't care about achievements.

It does start off slowly, but I suggest you keep playing. You will be so attached to this game by the end, it's not even funny.

As long as it is not a cut-scene, you can skip through the dialogue by pressing 'X'

Yes it is slow but picks up, first day I only played a couple hours and felt the same way. Give it a chance the last 3 to 4 hours is epic and shouldn't be missed, at least for me. ;)

He is right, give it a chance, I started just like you with the difference that I wasn't sure if I should buy it or not, so I went with the smartest decision, I rented it and let me tell you, at first I was exactly like you TC, "Man, thank God I didn't buy this game, it sucks, it's too slow, I thought it was an RPG game and it turns out to be another shooter" but then I started playing it more and more and once you finish all that stuff in the Citadel that's when things become great!!! I now love this game and couldn't wait to return it, I just went and bought it!

Not at all, not even a little bit. I liked how the other guy said it is getting "a little dull" on his 3rd play thru hahahahaha.

The whole gameplay part where you interact with everyone is really awesome and fun, and choosing weather you want to be a bad guy that gets the job done, or the good gu that needs to save everyone. But aside from that gameplay is just meh.... might be just because I played as a soldier my first time through but still it just felt like a shooter during combat and then taking to people and doing the side-missions it felt like a true RPG.

I like the game but playing it over and over again makes it boring. I kind of think it's boring but not too much.

I found it kinda boring near the end, but when you beat any game 12 times in 11 days they tend to get a little stale. But on the first time? No way man.
