do i have to play halo to do halo 3?(no halo is crap replies please)

ok so im playing halo 1 and right now im getting pissed off by the stupid saving. i saved in one place after a checkpoint and it took me right back to the start of the level when i turned off my 360. stupid stuff. im not gonna beat a whole level just to save the game. so can someone tell me either how to save and be at that spot, or if i need to play halo 1 to get into 3? or can i just stuff the story and go through 3 and back to one later? or do i need to play it..... im loving halo 1 but just the save system thats getting annoying.

any advice/ help would be great :)

The game autosaves, but when you're ready to turn it off, pause it and select "Save and Quit."

And yes, I personally reccommend playing through both Halo 1 and 2 before tackling the Halo 3 campaign, just helps everything makes sense and is a ton more fun than reading "cliffnotes" online :roll: Also, ignore the "all caps" post; Halo 1 kicked off the whole Halo phenom; how bad could it be? I love all three games, myself...

well the thing is i have done save and quit also but back to the start it goes

I don't know why it's not saving right for you. I have Halo 1 on the PC and it auto saves at checkpoints.

Anyway you really should play all the games in order to get the full experience.

Halo really more about the multiplayer than the story though.

Inorder to get the background story you need to play the previous titles. HELLO!!! That's ****ing obvious!!

Halo 3 sucks by the way, so I don't suggest you play this game.

when you start the game back up are you going to resume or are you just going to that mission and selecting it because you have to go to load last checkpoint if memory serves me rightSuP3R_TooT

Ahh... that would def explain it, thats the only way I'd see the checkpoints and savin' and quittin' not workin'.

Yes I would suggest that you play the earlier games before you play Halo 3 if you want the full experience

Autosaves, when you want to quit thoug, press start and go to save and quit, don't just turn off your X-box. It will pick up from your last checkpoint.
