the only thing id be using the memory for is to save games and you can buy a 512mb memory card for 50 bucks, so do I really need to spend an extra 50 bucks for a hard drive? I know its so much more space but like I said I dont need it for anything.
I'm not sure if memory cards can be used as a cache, and if they can they'll probably be extremely slow. The harddrive works as a storage device and cache device for smoother gameplay and faster load times. So it's really up to you.
Are you sure? If you have xbox live, you will probably download large game content like new maps or an expansion pack. Also, if you want to download a demo, you will need a lot more than 500mb usually. If you are going to have xbox live I highly recommend waiting until you can afford the extra money to get a harddrive.
If you are going to have LIVE you need it as updates are usually stored in the console cache which lies within the HDD. So if you get game updates etc they will have to be saved into the Har Drvie. Mate stop being stingy and buy the HDD you will 99.9% need it.
