I was thinking of getting this game with an Xbox 360 for Christmas and wanted to know if people still play it online. I really like the Battlefield games, otherwise I will get Gears 2 or something.
I love the BF games :) wish they'd redo the original though. That had Subs, Carriers, Battleships and everything else I sill play BC but most of the community have moved on to CoD WaW I'll bet a few will come back though as BFBC offers so much more strategy on the maps

good game gimped by people online who camp for kills....ugh.
I loved the game when it came out, but as months passed and only 2 modes...it got tiring. It's a very good game, just be prepared to die A LOT until you memorize the maps and camp locations.
Its a good game but the online let it down for me, the team speak being limited to your squad is what ruined it for me. So you can only talk to 4 people and even if your in a party with 4 mates you are not always going to be put with your party (which to me makes no logical sence). The single player is enjoyable though, but short lived.
I got rid of my copy last month as they had not done anything to improve clan support and team speak, but there's still plenty on my friends list that still play it and its alwaya had a big community.
Questions about what games you should get should be kept in the dedicated recommendations thread that's stickied at the top of the board.
If you want to make a thread regarding games with a longstanding online player community, try to phrase it a little less like a "should I buy?" question, and more like "what makes this game so long lasting?"
