I'm thinking of getting a 22" HDTV for my bedroom to use for the 360, but i was wondering if a small HDTV would make make much difference from an SDTV?

It's not as dramatic as looking at standard def on a 50" and then viewing HD on the same tv, but it's still a big increase and will still be HD in all it's glory. I'd try to go at least 30" though not because of the picture quality but because bigger is better.

It's easier to find a smaller HDTV with better contrast, color accuracy and filtering for an affordable price. There will certainly be a image upgrade, but you're better off saving up for something bigger. Go to c-net.com -- they've got reviews and price comparisons. With shipping, I paid $1000 less for my Samsung 40" 1080p LCD than I would have if I bought it at Best Buy.

well...it make a partial diff but not in a huge way...you should get aleast a 36in or 30 would be fine...20's resoloution is not really that good. but if you want more info there is an offical tread on the top called important xbox 360's thread in there they ahve a list of tv sizes and they tell you how it their performance with hdtv.

Compared to an SDTV, even a smaller HDTV is a big step up, especially if you go from using A/V to component cables with progressive scan.  However, an EDTV LCD monitor from a reasonable distance looks about as good.  If you're doing HD, I'd go for at least a 30" screen.  The difference isn't worth it for a smaller one.

I have a 20" widescreen PC monitor that I use for HD with my Xbox 360. I also have a 32" SDTV and I enjoy playing on the 20" HD better. No matter how small it is it will make a difference if it is HD. However you are better off getting a larger screen. I will soon be purchasing a 37" HDTV with D-Sub and HDMI for $650. If you have a job $650 shouldn't be too big of a deal.

22inches looks great, and the difference is most significant if the tv (or moniter) is widescreen

I have a large HDTV but if my wife or kids are watching a movie I will play on my computer monitor. It is a 22" widescreen Westinghouse that has numerous plug in options. I actually play better on the 22" because I am sitting closer then I am with my large TV. Best buy is selling the Westinghouse 22" monitor for $399 right now. They are sold out online but they have them at the store.

Yes, there's a difference and you should buy it. Imagine a FPS game. On SDTV a target in the distance might be comprised of 1 pixel, so you wouldn't be able to tell what it is. On HDTV that same target would be made up of many more pixels, meaning that you could actually tell that's a person and you need to shoot him. Same thing for racing games; you can see the horizon a lot better and will be able to tell which direction to turn earlier.

I would get at least a 32".. 22" is pretty darn small for an HDTV. Hell, my computer monitor is a 21"! I am using a 37" LCD for my games.. looks amazing. Get a bigger TV or you won't enjoy "HD gaming" to its fullest.

i work for a small a/v company and i would never reccomend a hdtv smaller than 32 inches. in my opinion, its just not worth it.
