I want to play lumines and SOTN but the control on the 360 controller is better with analog?  Can anyone point me to a third party controller with a better d-pad.  I'm thinking about the Madcatz Pad 3.  Don't suggest that rip-off stick they got though.

No idea, but if you're not afraid of opening your controller up it can be fixed quite easy with a dremel tool or even just plan sandpaper. The problem on the 360 controller dpad is just that the plastic circle surrounding the actual pad is to close. If you dremel or sand that back it will work flawlessly.

I think that M$ controllers are the best. I wouldn't buy third party.

Although most people open up there controller to fix the problem as I stated above. I suppose you could do it pretty easily by just holding your controller upside down and sanding the inner ring to make it bigger. This may take some time as it will not be the ideal way to do it with the dpad in the way. Also you might want to have a vacuum nozzle close to suck up any of the particles so they don't do inside the controller. Mind you you only have to do this on the sides you see it hitting on.

Yeah, I sanded mine down and was astonished at how nice it is since. SFII on XBLA actually became playable. A word to the wise though, use a very fine grain of sandpaper and go pretty easy on it. Better to have to sand it down more than to realize you did too much.

well the d-pad is trash which is why I need a third party controller.  No, I'm not going to open the thing up when one of the third party controllers will probably do the trick.
