From what I've read, one of the main causes is that the overheating causes components to become un-seated from the motherboard, then you get the RROD. My console has a manufacture date of 12-05 so it's from the early batches of 360's, but still no RROD. Then again, I keep it clean, I have it out in the open, raised up off of the floor with a riser, I have an air purifier in my room which I happen to place close to the 360 (constant, cool, clean air blowing near the 360). I also never play my 360 for more than 3 hours at a time.
