Do The New 360's have some sort of protection against the green light.

The new Xbox 360's do not RROD (Red Ring of Death) thats what fanboys say,They used to but not anymore.

What causes this red ring of death? I have had my 360 for quite some time almost two years and nothing has happened yet. knock on wood!!!!

my launch console recently stopped reading discs, i never got 3 Red Rings...but i wish i did cause then MS would have covered my warrenty.

I bought a new console last week and it runs perfectly.

From what I've read, one of the main causes is that the overheating causes components to become un-seated from the motherboard, then you get the RROD. My console has a manufacture date of 12-05 so it's from the early batches of 360's, but still no RROD. Then again, I keep it clean, I have it out in the open, raised up off of the floor with a riser, I have an air purifier in my room which I happen to place close to the 360 (constant, cool, clean air blowing near the 360). I also never play my 360 for more than 3 hours at a time.

So because hopelessly loyal lame-o's say it doesn't happen means it doesn't happen. That's a worse endorsement than Ford saying Ford cars don't break.
