well in my opinion i  feel like..i've been cheated. if microsoft wanted to make a system like this why didn't they made it like dat when they launched it in 2005 , for me i bought this console since it launched and i rmember mircosoft said taht hey couldn't care less about hdmi and crap..but do u guys think hdmi is any better than vga? i mean they should have atleast tell the current xbox 360 ownwers including myself to return this one in and get a new one..it'z just gay that microsoft did this..but o well.imma guess that imma have to get a 120 gig hdd. then...

Why do you care?  If he feels like making a new thread, let him.  If you don't want to read it, then go to a different thread, its that simple.  I'm so tired of people being such asses and saying "search the threads, there is a sticky for this" like it makes the person inferior for not searching through the sticky for answers or opinions.  Good lord.

I do feel a little cheated that MS would bring out this console, but at the same time, I'm perfectly happy with my Premium console so it won't effect me much.

Elite means nothing to me.  I don't download (and pay too much) for movies, tv shows, etc over xbox live, so the extra hard drive space would just go unused.  And the HDMI seems really pointless, since the 360 does not have a HD-DVD or blu-ray player and can output 1080p through component.

I presume it plays HD-DVD's.  But it's not standard, so it doesn't really apply to the elite.  Not to mention that HD-DVD will probably go the way of the Sega CD.

EVERY company does this, they release a system then rerelease it with diffrent colour, shape, size and possibly add a feature here and there.  As an early adopter of the system you knew damn well what you were getting yourself into so stop complaining.  Your Lauch 360 will play games just as good as the Elite will.

I don't understand why so many people are so upset by this. If anything, it's a good thing for 360 fans. This will make the 360 a more serious competitor against the PS3, which will increase the 360 user base and ultimately lead to even more support from third party developers. Thus the 360 now has the potential to get even more content. People who already have 360s did not get screwed. Your current console can and always will be able to play any and all Xbox 360 games.Hoosr70

Also, people who already got 360s DID get screwed. I was an early adopter. I sat outside a store for 20 hours waiting to get the system at launch. I paid $400 for the "Premium" which I was led to believe was the choice for "hardcore" gamers and the "best" version of the system. It is pretty disheartening to have a new system which includes completely standard features that should have been included at launch released less than two years later, making my system pretty much obsolete (in my eyes). I know mine still "plays games." I don't care; I want the best. MS better offer some kind of trade-in deal, because if they don't, it is the first nail in the coffin.

Completely alienate the early adopters and "hardcore" gamers and cater to the casuals. Looks like that is what this generation is all about.

I personally feel cheated that they're selling the 120 gig hd for $180 when the whole elite package is only $80 more than the premium.  The bigger hd should only be $80.bessy67

It's funny reading your post, because it sounds like you didn't even read the TC's post. It also seems like you don't know what any of the words you said even mean. He's just saying it's unfair that we (people that already have a 360) have to pay even more money if we want to get the better thing. This should have been here at launch already. Now you just really need to go away, the boards don't need people like you.

The people getting screwed in this are the current Premium owners like myself... especially those who recently got their Premium (like me who got it for xmas).

It's a great option for future 360 owners who have been saving up for a Premium ... save $80 more to get the Elite or those who held out for the PS3 but are now disappointed.

Core owners can now upgrade their storage space by buying the 120GB HDD (being sold sepeartely) without having to ditch anything. HDMI probably wouldn't matter too much for Core owners... if they were interested in gaming in HD, they would have bought the Premium.

Premium owners gain nothing from this. We'd have to ditch our current 20GB (which we paid extra for) to upgrade to the 120gb and have to go through the tedious task of transferring all the data and no chance of gaining HDMI at all.

Do I like the Elite system... YES. Do I want the Elite system... YES. Will I buy the Elite system.... NO.

Why would I feel cheated? I got my 360 and it's great. They're selling the 120 gig hard drive for everyone, so no, I don't feel cheated and I don't see how you do.stealthrodent

The only way i might possibly, kinda sort of, maybe feel cheated is the price point of the New Drive. Even though its quit the deal compare to the 20GB sold Seperatley. 180 bucks for 6 times the space, not bad, not bad at all. ( Although I might not get it.)
