I like them, there better then nothing. I just wish you could use your gamer points to purchase stuff off live. Then achievments would be worth getting

Achievements are great, until you start spending every waking moment trying to get every single achievement possible within your skill range. Then your girlfriend leaves you, you get fired from your job, you forget to feed your pets, you neglect to maintain a satisfactory personal hygiene level, and have to move back to your parents basement. But none of that matters, -BA-DUNK-, ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED. Life is GOOD!

I love them. I mean I would never play a game just to get them, but I like the replay value they add.

I try to get them sometimes, its fun because its not pointless and theres proof you did it. And it just adds an extra challenge. Im not an achievement hound though, unless you unlock something awesome.

The acheivements are so addictive for me to get. When i complete a game, it adds so much more replay value for me to try to get all the acheivements i can.

Yes and no. I hate the fact that most of the achievements can only be achieved online/multiplayer. Because I hate having to deal with a bunch of misfits while I'm trying to get my 100 curbstomps. Had I played all my games ranked matches, I would have had it by now but I prefered to play amongst friends and avoid idiots altogether.

Yeah. Like one of the posts said, I'd prefer it more than nothing.

I like getting the achievements, but i couldn't care less about the gamerscore.

at first i didnt like them, but now i think "why play a game that has no achivements?" because achivements give you something to work for.

The achievments in games make the game feel so much rewarding! after so many long hours of killing goblins and so forth and you manage to complete the main quest of oblivion, you have proof that you have actually beaten it, and the sound you hear when you unlock an achievment...

One word for the achievments, GENIUS

I never cared for the longest time, but recently I've been getting bored so I've started going after them more. It can be really entertaining if you don't let it consume you.

At the very least it extends the replay value of a game by giving you some additional goals to shoot for.

i do enjoy unlocking achievements, but not to the point where i will ever play FOR achievements. if it's an easy achievement or one that I don't really have to go too far out of my to get, sure I'll do it, but otherwise I'll just play my way through the game.

For me, it adds replay value. Otherwise, once i'm finished with a game, I would not play it again...

me love achievements

it alwayskeeps me busy, like if you finished a game and your bored, i usually go off and try and get achevements, and it always make me feel happy

like if you found or got the hardest thing you get in the game and if there was no acheivement, you would be like... "yeah s*** i cant brag about it"

but then if there was you would be like "SUCK IT N00B IM S0 1337"

XD

same here. i dont usually replay games but with achievements ive replayed more games than i ever have. the feeling of finally getting there and hearing the sound is pretty rewarding. i love though getting unexpected ones. those are the best.

Achievements do add to the longetivity of a game and I really like obtaining an acheivement then hearing the message saying complete x achievement adds a sense of accomplishment. I know it definitly added to more play time for gears of war. Normally i wouldve just went through singleplayer on normal then off to multiplayer forgetting the singleplayer but I was like ahhh the hell with it ill just complete the game on all difficulty settings and get as many tags as i can for the points.

I love achievements. I wish you could delete them, though. I'm a bit of a completionist and GTAIV is on my profile...I have no intention of ever playing that game.

Yeah, I love the achievements themselves but not the gamerscore. They just so much replay value to games and they invite you to play games in styles you wouldn't normally play.

ahievements r one of the few reasons y i choose an xbox360 over the ps3. it just helps me play the game longer and dont get too bored with the game the first time through.

Someone can spend just as much as time getting achievements as some other person gets playing another game. a numerical score dosent determine if your a nerd. however i dont know why someone would get a game just for achievements instead of getting another game u can enjoy. isent that why people buy consoles?

I'm the same way. I used to laugh at my friend for playing games to get achievements, but it really does give you something to aim for in a game. They're pretty clever add-ons to a game.

And what exactly do they give u? gamer score? pathetic. The only useful achievments right now are for Team Fortress 2 for the PC, where every 12 or so achivements will unlock A NEW WEAPON (meaning in this unique case achievements actually give u something u can make use of. What will u do with your 360 games score? look at it and be proud of yourself? but isn't that's what the leaderboards are for?... F*** the gamerscore)

i kind of wish they never existed cuz i always look em up on xbox360achievements.org and find em all but i only do the ones i think are do-able and i end up getting pissed off everytime cuz i fail many times or i end up wasting so much time like do this scenario on hard or do this 10 times
