I spent a decent amount of time on mine, probably around 15-20 minutes. I'm also the type of person who gets a kick out of making characters look exactly like me..I have enough of a personality in real life, I don't need an avatar to help me bring it out. :D

I see so many people criticizing the NXE because it isn't cool enough, or it doesn't do enough, or it looks like something for a kid, and so on. Everyone just needs to give them time. It just came out, let them evaluate and work the bugs out. Not that it matters though, people complain so much these days because things aren't up to their personal and oh-so-meaningful expectations, that it can never be good enough.

In short, no. I made an Avatar that generally looks like me when the NXE first came out. My bio says "I'm in the military. I like shooters. Imagine that," and has since I got my console. My motto makes reference to my Team Fortress clan, and has for a very long time.

I spent about an hour on those and familiarizing myself with NXE.

Does anyone read the bios?  I do sometimes.

Yeah i read the bios, just for kicks. 8)

But the avatars wasn't really that cool as i hoped because you can't customize it that much. I use more time on my bio, motto and stuff like that.

Like Palantas, I made an avatar that basically resembles me, but I could take them or leave them. Don't love em, don't hate em. Just don't care about them one way or the other.

As for my bio and motto, I have often gone to change my motto only to discover I can't fit what I want to say in the small space allotted so I finally gave up and set it to MGU Officer. There it has remained for many moons. As for the bio, I occasionally use that to say what I'm up to in case friends come online. For example, I might put something like "Immersed in Fallout 3 right now and won't be up for any invites at the moment." or "Regardless of what you see me currently playing, I'm up for some L4D so shoot me an invite." Most times I'm too lazy to bother with it though. I definitely don't get personal and go into my life story, though.
