Well me and my bro both want our own Live accounts, but I was wondering if that means we'll have to pay twice or will the one gold subscription cover the both of us?zepman71
I don't find it that stupid, but then again i ahve played PC games for a long time. I say that because this problem is the same as CD keys for PCs. Only one person at a time can be playing a game (unless the game allows for guests like Halo 3). While you can have multiple people playing (starting game then removing cd and starting it on another PC... works well for LAN parties and on the xbox side all FPS have splitscreen *notice how i said FPS and not all shooters*).
I personally think it makes sense because if you CAN use one gold account for as many people as you (depending on who the account belongs to and how they feel about it) which is the same as the PC. You can have as many people as you want playing the game (if you do what i said before), but only one of you can get online.
I think the best solution of this is for every game to have Player and Ranked matches along with guests allowed online (this is more directed towards CoD4).

It's not even comparable to PC Gaming online. PC Games have multiple profiles. You can have multiple configurations for every existing online PC game. For the 360, you're stuck with one. CD Keys are transferable. 360 Accounts aren't.
Yeah you will, since it can't recognize the fact that you're using the same Xbox or that you're relatives.Tking1293
Incorrect, all Xbox Live accounts log their console's serial number. It'd be VERY easy to purchase Live for your specific console.
But Microsoft would rather make those extra millions that they don't need.
yea cant u just make 2 sliver accounts.
i dont have online but could someone explain the differences between the free one
and the one that make u play like $50. u can still play online with the sliver so whats the point in gold?

When will you learn that microsoft needs those "millions" to make XBOX LIVE a better service, if we wouldnt pay those 50 bucks every year, XBOX LIVE would be very crappy just like sony's online service (cause its free and they dont give mainteinance or update it) thanks to those $50 XBOX LIVE has all the updates we have experienced, we have marketplace, and most importantly LIVE is the better online service to date.
lol yea its a dumb idea my MS i know.
I have a good record/stats on COD4 and my cousins came over and they wanted to try COD4 online, I only have 1 account that has XBL GOLD and that is my account, and its their first time playing the game so i have no choice but to let them play and ruin my record. but its all good.

You don't honestly believe that do you? Xbox Live is NOTHING SPECIAL. You're paying for a free service. Guess what? Steam does everything Xbox Live does for free. It's evident Microsoft has extra money. They have nothing better to do than provide worthless updates changing the dashboard, and *GASP* full screen previews. I don't care! I'd rather have dedicated servers. Or better yet, a second gamer tag! Have you taken a look at PSN lately? It's getting several overhauls. For free too. So what it doesn't have that market place. You have to pay for everything on there anyways.
Developers even want to improve their games by releasing free content updates. But Microsoft won't let them! Microsoft is FORCING developers to charge people for extra content. Now you have to wait a few months for these content updates to become free.
But go ahead, and continue paying for what PC, PS2, and PS3 gamers get for free.

Hmmm quite interesting....
And yes I actually believe my words. Why? Cause Im experiencing it, every xbox live user can tell you XBOX LIVE is the best online service to date, I have read and heard that tons of times.
And for gods sake.. I own a PS3 myself, and its online service.. Its just not complete, its broken.. and believe me its NOT compared to Xbox LIVE, so dont come around trying to tell me something that YOU DONT EVEN KNOW ABOUT, and who told you everything in life is free?
