All the new ones do. Although it's pretty sad when people have fear of their consoles breaking right out of the box. I have had my 360 Elite since this March and I'm on my 3rd one already. Had my PS3 since launch, and not a single problem. Microsoft needs to stop being money wh**es and actually make a product thats worth buying. Report me for trolling or whatever idc... Truth hurts sometimes, just sucks that it always seems to be our wallets taking the hit.
my arcade is in repair, will they put a jasper chip in it to prevent it from happening again or will they just let me have a time bomb console?

Not likely. I recently had mine repaired, and I have no idea what they did, but they didn't change any chips because the new chips require a totally different power supply and power cable. MS says send in the 360 with NO cables or anything, so they send you back the old 360. They probably just change the motherboard out with the old chipset spares they have laying around.

I know what you mean, but when my Elite broke I bought a new Arcade 360 for $200. Now I have 2 consoles, my fixed Elite for backup. The Arcade does everything that the Elite does. I don't hate the PS3--I love Sony and have always enjoyed PS1 and PS2, but for me it just doesn't deliver the goods. The only games I ever wanted for the PS3 are Gran Turismo 5 and God of War III. Gran Turismo 5 keeps getting delayed and GoW3 isn't even out yet after all of this time since GoW2. But I won't buy a PS3 just for those 2 games. And the price of the PS3 never goes down to the point that I would consider buying it (around $200).
