Ok so the wireless controllers for a console give you more freedom to be futher away from the tv screen but does anyone even sit far back and take advantage of the wireless function or do you just sit near.

Even though I sit somewhat close to the TV, I'm still taking advantage of the controller being wireless because there aren't cords getting in the way...

madness how you think being 6 feet away+ is the point of it being wireless. its just so wires dont go all over the place.

Y'know, it's amazing how commercialism makes people believe they need something. I spent years with a Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Playstation, Dreamcast, PS2, etc, etc... Never once did any corded controller cause some sort of catastrophic dilemma to the point where I despised their existence. And yet somehow, today, if you were to take away my wireless controller, I'd likely punch you in the neck... Funny world.

Exactly. I have a young child and two dogs, wireless is a necessity so my console isn't getting pulled of its shelf.

I remember my brother pulling my controller out of the mega drive while playing european club soccer haha. good times. I think wireless is like everything else, purely progression. It's not life changing but it's nice enough.

that's enough of taking advantage of wireless functions to me, so I agree with JML

I never use the wireless controller unless friends are over, my hands are big and the battery pack gets in my way, so I prefer the wired one.

My nose physically touches the screen. It's just that there are no cables bothering me, obviously. That's what wireless controllers are for. You're not meant to play your games while being in another room.

exactly, why would you not want freedom of the controller? You can move it in any way ya want. It is just more fun!!

The only reason I dispise the wireless controller is the battery and the extra 20 bucks i need to spend to get one.

Otherwise, i love them.

When I am hosting a party, I may need to sit back, but normally I sit right in front of the screen. about 4 feet back.

A halo wirless controller was $50 at Circuitcity but unless you live in Canada its probably to late to get one.

I have a 42" LCD tv - i'm usually within 6 feet from the screen when I play. I can't stand to sit far back from the screen, I don't get the feeling that I have as much control.

Freedom, that's the benefit. Also, it has prevented people from tripping over a couple of times.

Yeah, I went to my buddies house the other day; he's lame and only has a PS2. We had to move the couch closer so we could all reach, but then the cords were hanging down in front of the screen so it was hard to see, it was rediculous. I'll tell you, I've taken wireless controllers for granted, going back to wired after a year+ of using wireless was so terrible I started laughing at him. I was definitely thankful to get back to my wireless controllers. And in case you ever get used to todays graphics, just go back and play an old console, wow, what a difference. That's another thing I've taken for granted.

If your controller has the capability to be wireless, why wouldn't you take advantage of that?? I despise wires, they make me nuts.

So, just barely.
