like in cod4, yes i do. dont care about other games really, but the poll is off. its not my main priority AT ALL! I play to have fun but dont care to much. if there was a choice of somewhat, that would be my answer
If this is a response to my forum related topic, i'm not saying that my kill to death ratio is my number one priority. It matters somewhat. Fun is my number one priority.
You should have put an in between option. K/D ratio isn't the only thing I care about in games, but I do try to keep above 1:1 so people don't think I'm a complete scrub lol.

You know you need to start worrying about your K/D ratio when... its lower than 1.00 in Left 4 Dead. :D But no I don't really worry I mean I try to do good but I'm not playing to show off my skill I'm playing for fun. I do care about things like rankings though usually, like for example I get happy when I go up a rank in Call of Duty or when I get a new achievement in Team Fortress 2. :)
In an average game of mine in cod4 i usually have like 18 kills and then like 19 or 20 deaths, or thats what it seems to be, but since my connection wavers so much I can't care about something like my k/d ratio since I would just throw my xbox out the window, and after just playing halo3 online, i noticed that it doesn't tell you how many deaths you have unless you seek out the stats your self, but in halo it is alot easier to die. When i play cod4 at my friends house, he seems to care when i have a terrible k/d ratio, hes just like "quit the game so this doesnt count to my stats" and i am just like "who cares?" my other friend didnt want to go on his headset and trashtalk (which, i guess, is a d*ck move) because he didnt want people to make him an avoided player, and again i was like "who cares?" i know when i look at it, i dont give a damn, those stars ratings dont mean anything to me and neither does kill death ratio, only the number of kills
I don't really care, no, because I play for fun. But when I am playing a shooter, I DO try not to die, more than anything else. Kills will come. My main objective is not to run around like a chicken with my head cut off like most people do. I play all shooters with a "stop and pop" style. Makes COD 4 really easy, since people just play it like it's Halo. This usually leads to a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio. I typically get 25-30 kills and under 10 deaths in a game of TDM in COD 4.
I care about it to a point. I agree with using some tactic in your games and not run around like a chicken with its head cut off. WAW is my highest K/D spread. Average is 1.2 I keep lowering it playing Headquarters with friends. lol
I like having a good k/d ratio. But i don't care if it's not that good. I certainly don't let it determine how i play a game. My main priority is to win. I play Hardcore Search on CoD almost exclusively and I'm happier with a 3-6 game and a win, than a 10-2 game and a loss.
It seems no matter what i play online my K/D is between 1.3 - 1.5 except gears it stays around 1:1 but winning is more important than my own personal K/D. I play gears with a guy who thinks he's amazing because he races to the grenades or power weapons every round and doesn't let anyone else pick them up, but when he gets stuck with the shotty and lancer he is absolutely terrible.I hate people like this when i play i like to talk about who is going for what weapon before each round starts, I die a lot in gears making sure the other team doesn't get the mortar or a boomshot or torque while some one else gets behind them. Everyone else is so worried about their K/D that even when it is a 3on1 situation my teamates are afraid to go after some one. I Just want to win. The other day on Pavillion warzone its a 2 on 1 situation this guy has no nades he's down low can't get passed the gate and out of mortar shots. my teamate and i are at the top of the strairs we start to lancer each other i get downed, I;m thinking big deal my teamate is right here he'll pick me up or down the then pick me up only to realize he ran back to get more nades cause he has no balls.
I like to keep it above 1, but if it doesn't I'm not really bothered, and there is usually a reason (beside being rubbish! ) In BF2 I liked to play as the Medic, so while I got very few kills, and quite a lot of deaths, I often scored the highest points on my team purely through healing and reviving teammates
unfortunately i do :( i kinda wish i didnt... i care a lot on cod games because im pretty good online (2.24 on cod 4 and 5).. on games like gow2 i dont care i just have fun..

I enjoy keeping tabs on it to see how I'm improving as time goes on. However after the initial couple of weeks I forget about it and just enjoy playing the game.
While I wouldn't say that it is my top priority for enjoying a game, then I suppose it counts. The better the score, the more satisfied I am with my performance in the game. And, it's always more fun to get a kill than get killed, right?
There is a small part in everyone, that looks at the stats afterwards and says - nice or darn. But I do care about my team winning and do care that I do add into that factor whether its 5 or 20 kills.
