Because I know I sure do. I dont know why i just like looking at my shelf seeing a lot of games even though i prlly only play a third of them. Almost everyone i know says im stupid and i should trade them in to buy other games instead of spend my money but i always say no.

So do you ever feel you just have to buy a game to enhance your collection eventhough it's cheap/old/crappy and you'll prolly never play it?

Nope.

I try to surround myself with quality games that I will play. I don't care to have a shelf full of games if I will only play a handful of them.

On the flip side, I hate looking at my collection if it's filled with stinkers.

Stinkers are the only games I sell. Fortunately I rarely have stinkers because I always buy my games well informed, and I know what I'm getting when I buy a game. Only rarely do I end up with a crap game.

Other then that, I never sell. Even if I beat a game and I'm not currently playing it, but I loved it when I did, I keep it because I know I'll go back to it.

Anyway, do what's right for you.;)

I don't buy crappy games, but I sure do buy a bunch of older games if I want them. My collection is approaching 19 years old, so I have way more than a handful of games that I haven't beat. I do play and enjoy them all though.

I just try to buy games I enjoy whether the majority of gamers enjoy them or not. I never trade in games because I enjoy having a collection but this doesn't mean I feel like I have to buy a crappy game.

I dont, I just buy games that I know that I will enjoy. I try to buy games that my freinds have if its like a game thats more focused on multiplayer than single player. But other than that I buy games that I know I will enjoy when I play.

Absolutely, and I will buy all the old crappy games as an homage to the new ones... and I shall own them forever.

I don't buy crappy games and I don't trade my games in. Trade in values are ridiculous. And you may not think it at the time but if it's a good game you'll end up wanting it later on (maybe even after next gen systems come out). Hell i'll sometimes go back to my N64 for kicks.

I used to do that. It's just fun collecting things. So if you enjoy collecting then go for whatever's gonna make you happy. If the games are cheap and you're getting a deal then why not. I wouldn't suggest paying a lot of money for a rare or popular game that you're simply never going to play just to add it to your collection though, that's when you're like what in the blue h**l am I doing with my money.

i seem to have the same sort of problem lol .. i 've bought alot of games just because i felt like something new but unfortunately i never finish them .. :( the worst are those games like HL2 which is rather expensive, i've only played it a few times .. d:

so now i usually go buy used games in the local blockbuster, or through the web which tends to be cheaper :)

fortunatley i have 2 jobs so money is not an issue. :)

and as a side note i like having alot of variet games so whenever i'm in a mood for rpg's, fps or rts when they actually release some more i'll be able to freely choose something and always have something new to play.

example: me and a close IRL friend was bored some days ago and he said "go put on a game on your xbox.." so i searched my map of games and finally found Halo 2 which i havent finished yet, only got halfway through it, so i put it on and we had some good hours of co-op, without being bored because it's already done too many times before :)

I feel that way with some series, like devil may cry. I knew DMC2 was awful, and that I would prolly never play it, but because it was part of the DMC storyline, I bought it, used.

I couldn't word it any better, I did that with my last gen systems and now I regret it. I have a friend on XBL, that has that problem. He brags about how many games he has and most of them garbage. He plays them for about a week tops, and eventually they become dust collectors.

I'm proud to sit back a skip bad games to wait for good ones. Its nothing better then looking at your collection and knowing you have the best of the best.

I never buy bad games but i never trade in my games either. I have all of my xbox games still and i'll never get rid of them a lot are pretty cool. When the next gen or gen after that of games come they'll become classics. For now in my opinion most games feel overall the same as last gen which i didn't doubt it would change that much. But a few gens from now they'll feel very classical and will have more appeal to me. So why get rid of my classics? Whenever i get more money i'm getting a ps2/gamecube bundle off of ebay.

I buy some crap games just for the fact that it doesnt have to be the greatest game ever for me to play it.

sure it might sit around still sealed long enough for it to drop in price, but eventually I will have the urge to play it. Plus there are many times in a year where there is a game drought and instead of having to go and pick a game out to buy if I want to play one, I can just grab one off the shelf.

I like collecting games, if that's what you meant. But I certainly dont buy just ANY game. I make sure I add quality games to my collection. Usually, games without replay value dont stay long in my collection. I end up selling those on EBay, for a pretty good deal. A lot better than selling them to your local game store. Some of the cheap and old games are great games, like Rainbow Six Vegas, The Darkness, etc. If they're good to great games, they're worth buying and keeping.
