no offense or anything, but if you only get games with a 9.0 rating or higher.. you're really missing out on a lot of great games.ctfvyrsgurbnorn
I agree. I get any game i think i might like. I dont let someone else tell me whats a good game or not.
[QUOTE="solo4321"]no not really because some games like oblivion and mass effect are AAA games and i dont like them cuz i hate rpgs but for instints nba 2k8 is AA and i bought it cuz im into that the rating scale really depends on the reviewerSutton
Instints? LMFAO
my bad instants lolMass Effect is AA, not AAA. And, no, I have my own opinions, I buy the games I like.the_leet_kid
Mass Effect is a AAA game dont go by Gamespot only you have to look at a site like megacritic.com which takes the overall scores of every site and magazine.

Gaming is a relatively epensive hobby, so you can't have it all. However, its not as bad as other hobbies, like my wife's, which is shopping for clothing, she spent 18k this year!!!!?!?!?! GOD DAMN IT!@O@JONJHDKLFNADKNFNAL I am so mad!
Me personally I dont get games like Devil May cry and turok. I try to only get almost excellent games like halo 3, mass effect, bioshock, etc. Im not saying anything is wrong with A or AA titles but why pay $60 for a game like turok when you can get a better game in COD 4 for the same price. you know what I mean.Bigfred19882000
Like Devil May Cry...just because GameSpot gave it an 8 don't mean its not AAA there chief. Look at some other reviews for it, it got high 8's and 9's everywhere else so if a game gets multiple 9.0 or higher scores I'd call that a AAA game. GameSpot wouldn't know what a good game is. Christ they gave Assassin's Creed a 9 when it got 7's elsewhere and that was the most repetitive game I have ever played.
AE wasnt that bad. Personally, I go for AAA titles. I dont know if you consider Assassin's Creed AAA, but that's the only thing I have that probably isnt. I went with GS's rating, 9.0. Yes, I read IGN's review and others but I like the game. It's repetitive, true, but other things make up for it. Just by looking at it and playing it just a little, you cant honestly say it's not AAA. Well, I think it is.
I use to have The Darkness but I sold it because it didnt have a great multiplayer. And I only got it for $19.99 brand new. It's probably the best AA title out on the Xbox 360 imo. In my eyes, it deserves a 9.0 score or higher. It's AAA, to me.

It's funny to see people arguing over whether a game is A, AA or AAA.
Even funnier when you consider that AAA is just a made-up term with no real meaning. A and AA come from music when a band released a double-sided single (vinyl). The main track was the A side, and the other track was the B side and wasn't as good. When bands started making more good music they would put an A standard song on each side - making it a Double A side, or AA. Triple A or AAA is just a made-up term by journalists on the thinking that 3 A's must mean it is better than 2 :D
As for buying games I look at sites like Metacritic to see what a large number of reviewers thought. If you only limit yourself to GS scores of 9.0 then you will miss out on a lot of very good titles, and also buy some that you don't like that got 9's.

Totally agree. Mr. Smartypants over here has a point. AND, I learned something new today (about the A, AA, AA tracks). I didnt know that, well thanks for the info.
this post points out the reason the 360 has so many shooters, and so few action games, or rpgs.
12 year olds will only buy a game that gets great reviews, which is easily achieveable when making a shooter. becuase of this, great action games like devil may cry, great rpgs like mass effect, don't sell nearly as well because it is much more difficult to get a 9.5 plus score for these types of games. games that are much more complex than a fps are basically graded harder, becuase so much can go wrong with them. this leads all these kids like sheep, being led by reviewers to the best scored games, while missing the real gems of the current gen games.

Another great point. Now we have ourselves an intellectual discussion. (I mean it, seriously)
