Do you go back and play games if you know the sequel is coming up?

I've done this with most of my games. When Dead space 2 was announced i went back and played Dead space. Same with Skyrim and Gears 3. Do you tend to do this?

Not counting series like Final Fantasy that date back to before I was born I always play games in order.

Yes i do. Playing Oblivion right now because of Skyrim. Next i will be playing Dead Space 1 (again) before i buy Dead Space 2 and then Dragon Age Origins (again) before i buy DA2.

I absolutely do this. When Dead Space 2 came out I had to go back and finish the first one. Same with Mass Effect.

With DA2 very close by, yeah riiiiight over there! *points finger* I've been playing DA:O finishing playthroughs so I can import them and stuff, plus achievements!

True that. I had actually been stuck on Level 5 in Dead Space for like 2 years, forgot about the game, then just decided to start all over again and beat it 2 weeks ago. Now I'm playing Dead Space 2 and having a ball.

I replayed SW:TFU and Assassin's Creed II right before their sequels were realeased and I plan to do the same for Arkham City. TFU2 was such a let down. Replaying the first one was a total waste of time lol.

I've done it before, but not always. If the games are short enough I would. Otherwise I'd just find a youtube video that explains the story up to then in 5 mins.

Going to start playing some BC2 again to get prepped for Battlefield 3 guys! Cant wait!

Went through and played TFU a week before TFU2 came out. Going to beat ME1&2 about a month before 3 comes out. I'll play Batman AA probly a week before AC comes out. I only do it when it's a sequel to a game that I really loved. I'll probably beat DA:O again soon then buy DA2.

I've already played Oblivion for 60 hours ever since they announced Skyrim. By the time Skyrim comes out, I will have beaten the living crap out of Oblivion.

Yes, all the time. I also like seeing the differences between the older and new.

Only if it is a game I really liked. I have such a huge backlog of games that I would rather catch up on games I haven't gotten to yet than replaying a game I've already completed, the exception being for games I really love.

yeah i do this. same as everyone else. i did it with dead space and im doing it with the elder scrolls aswell. i didnt do it with bioshock because it would make BS2 look even weaker than it was.

Definitely. No doubt I'll play Uncharted 2 again right before Uncharted 3 is released. Plus, it's just a great excuse to play an awesome game again. :D
