I never even knew there was a difference, why is that?Â

wtf for? After the Hot Coffee scandal, Take2 was under scrutiny and it was said that the info on Oblivion they gave to the ESRB did not reflect all of the gore in the game. The ESRB rerated it instead of getting into hot water.

some one also made a mod making it so the female characters can be topless. This might have something to do with it. Id post a link, but I might get in trouble;)Â
Teen but not quite sure why since mine I bought at launch or was it the other way around with it being Teen first then going to M?-ZeRoHouR-It was T first but Take-Two was in some trouble, and the ESRB finally saw all of the blood and gore so they made it M. But when I was playing it, it didn't seem like an M game to me for some reason.

This is the correct answer. There are mod patches for the PC version of the game which allows for some nudity in the PC games. Because of this Oblivion on either PC or 360 has been changed from Rated T to M even though the 360 owners can't access the mature content.

It wasn't just because of the nudity mods.Â
"Re-rating: On May 3, 2006, Oblivion was re-rated from T (Teen) to M (Mature) by the ESRB. [39] The ESRB chose to re-rate the game due to the discovery of nude textures included deep within the game's files, accessible through a third-party modification for the Windows version, and also due to the existence of more blood and gore than was revealed to ESRB. The new rating of M causes some stores to require a valid government ID to prove that the consumer is 17 or older. This restricted sales for most teenage players since they would typically require a parent to assist in purchasing. Even after Bethesda removed the textures from the game, both available versions of the game remained rated M,[39] and the PS3 version has also since been rated M."
