So I was just wondering about everybody's thoughts on EA, since they seem to some to be the big bad quantity>quality game studio while others think its a joyus company who keeps many of their favortie old game series' alive
so whaddya thinkk?

[QUOTE="Strife88"]Yeah, Army of Two and skate is mainly the reason.Travis281
What's wrong with skate, I thought people liked that game.
The question was do you like EA, and he said yeah, because of AO2 and skate.
I like the Burnout Series and absolutely adored skate.
And I'm sure there are a billion other titles I've enjoyed from EA, but I don't like them as a company, unfortunately. But I still buy from them... : /
i loved ea about five years ago.....but now they have become crap. There just trying to buy up everyone and everything so they can control the market. If they could innovate a little id consider playing their games.s_bowers_15
Have you tried skate.?

I used to hate EA, but I will admit that they are changing.
I still believe that they are run by their marketing department. They put out new versions of their games every year, or they put out movie tie ins. It didn't take to long for the public to realize what they were doing, and start insisting that they develop new IPs. It may have taken some time, but at least they are trying to develop new properties like Skate and Army of Two.
I am conserned about how they are choosing to expand, given their resent attempt to purchase Take Two, and their acquisitions of Bioware and Pandemic. Until I see their first releases under the EA label, I will withhold my judgement. As long as the developers are given a fair level of automity, they should be fine. These companies are capable of produceing great games, and they will have access to EA's resourses. I would love to see what Bioware could do with the LotR licence. However, in order for this to work, EA and the developers need to be commited to producing great games, not to meeting deadlines, release windows, or analysts expectations (these will hopefully be met by producing quality games)
If you want Low Quality Games, Bad Development, And No Support Well Then Go For It..Christoffer112
Yeah, actually I don't mind them. I have been following their FIFA series from an early age. I have really enjoyed their sports titles. I believe that although some of their titles game-play may seem recycled from year to year, it appears to vary between games.
Games like FIFA 08 and Fight Night Round 3 have to be amongst the best sports titles available out there. FIFA 08 was actually able to out-shine the Pro-Evo series in game-play (in my opinion) and graphics. Fight Night Round 3 offered great innovation with it's total punch control (throwing punches with right analog stick) and arguably the most photo realist models (the boxers). I think that the Madden titles have never been terrible, they may not have been the best when the where competing with the likes of Blitz and 2K sports but they have been close behind. I am sure it would be hard for anyone to find a bad review of any of their games. Even the recent screens of Madden 09 show slight graphic improvements even though the game-play appears to be similar.
So I like there games but like many I have a problem with their stifling of the competition. The likes of Madden's NFL exclusivity, I think has deprived American football fans of other potential titles. I would like to be looking to forward to more than one title a year.
hmmm... crysis, burnout and the orange box wouldn't call them low quality, bad development[QUOTE="Christoffer112"]If you want Low Quality Games, Bad Development, And No Support Well Then Go For It..themobilephone
....Crysis wasn't developed by EA...Crytek developed it...all EA did was publish it. Learn you're material before you talk about things you don't know.
More of a No than Yes, but hopefully they can pull off FightNight 4. And I bought Army of Two and gave it a chance and it was great at times and felt rushed at certain points with bugs gallore! I am finding it hard to build up the interest just to complete the game. Anyways, with the amount of money behind EA we should se some top notch quality software but I guess we pay for the name.
No because when they finally had competition (NFL 2k series) they bought the rights to the NFL teams so they could produce mediocre games and still cash in! I just wish the NFL (players association) hadn't sold them exclusive rights. When those two games (Madden and 2K) actually faced off against each other I really thought the 2k series was starting to become the better game. I really hate when there are 2 players on a local machine where the play is shown to the other user. I liked it when there were three plays b/c the other user would know your formation but would have to guess your play. One more thing...their servers are junk that's why I refuse to buy an EA game for multiplayer. Enough ranting....
