Why? It will consume your time for HOURS and HOURS and HOURS upon HOURS upon HOURS on end.
Calm down. So it will take up a large amount of time. So what? Is it fun and stuff? If so, please elaborate.GET OBLIVION

Oblivion is somewhat slow-paced, and the achievements take awhile, and if you're a big online gamer, a big no-no for you.
It's one of my favorite games, but if the cons above make it seem like it's not worth it, then don't bother. Other than that, it's perfect.
Also, I know some people who hate horror games who have also hated this game because they get the spooks when they go in the dungeons. It's hard to see in them, and most dungeons have some sort of undead species in them.

yes it is fun and "stuff". Imagine like Saints Row x 100 = not even close to oblivion's depth. The beauty of the world is above and beyond any other game. It COMPLETELY destroys everything GEoW has to offer IMO. Looting and customization make this RPG the best game on the 360.
Oh really? Well then I might get Viva Pinata.... Lol. Seriously, is there any other game of equal awesomeness. Scary things scare me.Oblivion is somewhat slow-paced, and the achievements take awhile, and if you're a big online gamer, a big no-no for you.

dude forget viva pinata not worth your money.....not worth $2....get oblivion you'll be finding yourself lost in a world of awesomeness.....im tellin you if u buy viva pinata instead of the game of the year pretty much, you're gonna regret it
Number one, just forget about Viva Pinata. Right now. Just forget about it.
Number two, the length is what makes it outstanding, and the achievements, I'm guessing, doesn't bother you.
Slow or fast, depending on how you go about things. People like me look around every corner for every little bit of treasure.
People like my friend just loot corpses, which is also intensely fun!
As for the horror, it's not scary. I'm just saying that you don't seem to be the dark dungeon kind of person, so you don't have to! Instead, you can storm the fields, slaying all who get in your way! When night falls, you retreat to the nearest town to trade with merchants and take a nap to level up. When you wake up, MORE SLAYING!
Trust me, you will LOVE this game.
Well, I'm not really sure if Oblivion is too scary or not. Is Viva Pinata really that bad? Any other games I can get?Pepperpop10Viva Pinata is great, but it doesn't have online either. And, Oblivion doesn't scare a ton of people I know. You should seriously get Oblivion though, it's the best game I've played in the past 5 years.

OK, if you say so. I think I'll get it if there's no other game that is really great too.Number one, just forget about Viva Pinata. Right now. Just forget about it.

Well, like that other guy said, there's dungeons and stuff with undead species or whatever. I played Dead Rising, but I guess that's not really scary... I don't know really.
You are making the right decision if you buy it, and you won't need another game for a month.waco219The thing is, I rarely buy games so I hope it'll last more than a month. I usually don't play more than 2 or 3 hours a day. How long will it last at that rate.
What makes Oblivion so great is that you don't HAVE to do anything...
I have spent nearly 130 hours on the game, and am level 44 and I am still not tired of the game...
I am also only about 15 minutes into the main quest, since right after the beginning I went out exploring and doing quests on my own.
The game isn't really scary at all... Once in a while you may get a few spooks in dungeons, but it's nothing that bad... Trust me... I'm not a big horror game fan either.
It's a game that allows you to make whoever you want, and do whatever you really want... Spend hours playing it, or minutes... It's player friendly beyond belief.
I love Oblivion and it will be in one of my top ten games of all time for a long time to come... I have spent days where I just played that... But that doesn't mean that's what you HAVE to do...
That's the beauty of it, play it how you want, and do what you want... The World is what you make of it.
As for any other game with the "equal" awesomeness... Look at the gamespot reviews, all the other site reviews, player reviews, look how many people like it... And ask yourself if there is? And even if there is, that still doesn't mean you shouldn't get this game.
Viva Pinata isn't bad... It's just nowhere near what Oblivion is... They can't even be compared.. It doesn't work.
I agree entirely with your post(although i've played for 300 hours, lol) and to add to that, I'm actually in an elder scrolls union that has 400 members, and it isn't even the most popular one about the elder scrolls! What makes Oblivion so great is that you don't HAVE to do anything...

Hellz ya Oblivion is a great game (for singleplayer). Its long and really makes you think sometimes. The quests range in difficulty and there is so much treasure to loot. (One little hint: find a bunch of paintbrushes and since they weigh nothing they float in the air when you drop them then you can jump onto them drop another and basically make a staircase to like anywhere!!! GREAT AND FUN FOR RANGERS!!!) Liquid_Ice_007Huh?
I got invited to the Union, so that's cool. Also, although my dad usually lets me get M-rated games, my mom's a little worried. I explained the whole re-rating thing, but just to confirm, is there anything innapropriate in there? I'm pretty mature for my age though, so I think it should be fine..Pepperpop10
For the 360 version there isn't that much... There's some blood, some alchoholic references (but nothing really that bad at all)... Maybe a drug reference, maybe a few minor language issues... But nothing too serious... Violence... Uhh...
That's all I really know of... If you take someones equipment all the way off they are basically still wearing under garments so nothing of that nature...
So yeah.
I love Oblivion for what it is, not what it's not... Every game has it's faults... And it's the same with Oblivion... But I love it all the same... Because it's an open-ended RPG that gives you the ability to do what you want, when you want, how you want. It's not linear and it doesn't limit you JUST ONE way to do things...
If you do quests, go out and kill things, focus on skills, make potions, join a guild... Whatever you want... You do what you find entertaining.. Or if your like me, all of those things entertain you. =).
Personally I couldn't stand it.
It was beautiful, not doubt about it, the graphics were nice but it lacked alot of things I enjoy in a game...
Like all the morrowinds and what not, I got bored of it. There was nothing really to keep me going in the games. But that's just me. I enjoy games with character build up, you know pretty much nothing about your character, ect. Just wasn't deep enough for me. That's my 5 cents on that game.
I never said it was scary (or if I did I probably made a mistake)
My favorite thing to do is hack away at the undead in fact, but (forgot his name, the one who posted this topic) said he didn't like horror. I just wanted to point out that one of the main things to do in the game is go into dark dungeons and search for treasure and fight the creatures dwelling inside them.
I didn't want him to buy the game and then not play it because he gets nervous when he goes in the dungeons.
Sorry if I mislead anyone. I know that nobody would find this game scary, I just didn't want him to waste $60 if he'd be too scared is all.
