I was just curious what most gamers think about having a radar (like halo) tell you where people are on multiplayer games. I personally hate it. I played a ton of GRAW and loved it because I had to actually look for the enemies and not have the game hold my hand for me. Plus I cant stand when you have a good spot ruined by the radar. At least with COD you have both options, either core or hardcore. Maybe more games should come out with a hardcore and core mode. What do you think?

Yeah, either is fine. It's nothing significant. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

I like the radar. In Halo I look at my radar more than the screen (not really but I do look at the radar a lot). I think radar is in a lot of games because on a tv you don't have peripheral vision, so it helps take care of that problem. Of course in real life you can't see around corners or behind you. In COD4 I love using radar jammer and a silenced AK-47 cause it messes up a lot of people. I'm really good at both games and use the radar all the time so I would probably suck at Rainbow Six or whatever.

It doesn't matter with me. Radars should be used when you get lost, have to backtrack and such, you don't really need them if the missions are too straightforward.

Yes of course they are very useful for single player. I should have stated for multiplayer only.

I hate getting shot in the back the whole time, so if the radar is on it does decreases the odds of it, but it does encourage campers everywhere, and that does kinda stink,

With radars. Without them we would be spending most of our time trvaeling around the mapsof COD, Halo etc looking for camping noobs who sit in bushes.

Radars are vital to FPS games.

The only experience I have with radars is on BF:BC. It's alright. I've gotten numerous sniper kills because of it though. A bit unfair maybe.

Depends. If it's an open-ended map like GTA4, we need radar. If it's any map from Halo, radar is redundant and stupid.

in multiplayer i'll say no to very little, "HC COD4" or Gears. it makes the game more challenging and strategic. (as for other game genres there kool as long as they dont display the enemy)

It depends on the game and the game type.
