no they won't suffer, still will look good and the bigger TV you have the better no matter what kind of TV it is, whether its CRT or HDTV. but i will admit that the games do look alot better on HDTV. i own a 32 inch olevia lcd hdtv, and all my games look great and that's not even a top end HDTV. Some games like Dead Rising also have small fonts/text/subtitles and you can't read them on regular CRT tv's which is one drawback with not having an HDTV.
360 still plays amazing on standard def tvs. You can also buy the official xbox s-video cable if you want a slight graphical boost while playing on a normal tv
I current;y only have standard def television - can't quite get my wife to cave in on the hi-def concept yet.
Only thing I notice w/a standard tv is the quality of text on the screen, if it's small, sometimes it can be difficult to read. Otherwise, graphics do look better - but I can't wait to see how much better they look when we do go hi-def !!!!
